Job Summary

Studio 88, one of the largest retailers of Branded Clothing and Footwear in Southern Africa, is seeking an individual who is passionate about retail strategy, thrives on data-driven insights, and wants to play a key role in shaping the future of fashion retail.

Purpose of the Role

To plan and execute balanced store contribution strategies that optimize sales, stock levels, and profitability across the departments, ensuring products are allocated to the right stores based on forecasted demand and performance insights.

Responsibilities

Analyze store performance: Monitor store performance metrics (sell-through rates, stock turn, and gross margins) to identify regional trends.

Develop seasonal strategies: Build location specific strategies that forecast and predict consumer trends to inform volume purchasing and inventory distribution.

Optimize product allocation: Ensure the right product is in the right stores at the right time, balancing demand and stock levels and optimizing sales and profitability.

Study external factors: Analyze key financial indicators and industry benchmarks to support sales and allocation decisions.

Support expansion projects: Provide insights into new store openings and market entry strategies.

Post-mortem & Strategies: Review and adjust season plans based on past performance.

Mentor junior location planner: Share knowledge, guide development, and contribute to building a strong planning team.

Minimum Qualifications and Experience

· Degree/Diploma with quantitative or supply chain focus (e.g., Logistics, Retail Management, Business Science, Finance, Economics or statistics).

· 3-5 years in retail location planning, or merchandise planning.

Skills required

· Strong proficiency in Excel

· Experience with retail planning software

· Ability to work with large datasets and translate insights into action
