Vacancy: Security Analyst

Division: Corporate Security Services

Job Grade: B-Upper

Job Type: Fixed Term Contract (18 months)

Closing Date: 10 June 2026

Salary: Salary and benefits will be negotiated in line with relevant experience and qualifications.

PURPOSE OF THE POSITION

The Security Analyst is responsible for monitoring, analysing, and responding to security risks, threats, and incidents to safeguard the organisation’s people, assets, information, and operations. The role supports proactive risk management and drives continuous improvement of security controls and systems.

SUMMARY OF KEY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDED BUT NOT LIMITED TO:

Identify suspicious activities, anomalies and potential threats, Monitor security systems (CCTV, access control, alarms and related systems).
Analyse intelligence and incident data to detect patterns and trends.
Respond to security incidents in a timely and structured manner.
Assist with investigations and support evidence gathering.
Document findings, root causes and corrective actions.
Conduct and coordinate security risk assessments across sites and operations.
Ensure compliance with internal policies, procedures and regulatory requirements.
Identify vulnerabilities and recommend mitigation measures.
Compile daily, weekly and monthly security reports.
Maintain incident logs, dashboards and tracking systems.
Provide actionable insights and recommendations to management.
Support and monitor the effectiveness of security systems.
Collaborate with IT on system improvements, testing and integration.
Assist with the implementation of new security technologies.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

Completed Matric qualification.
Relevant degree or diploma in Security Management, Criminology, IT, or related field.
Minimum 2 years’ experience in a security, risk management, or intelligence analysis environment.
Experience working in a high-risk or operational environment (advantageous).

SKILLS/COMPETENCIES :

Intermediate proficiency—Microsoft suite (Excel, Email, Word) and SAP.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
High level of attention to detail and accuracy.
Ability to identify risks and recommend practical solutions.
Effective communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
Ability to work independently and under pressure.
Strong integrity, judgement and ethical conduct.
Good report writing and data analysis capability.

KNOWLEDGE:

Familiarity and working experience with Security systems (CCTV, alarms, access control).
Understanding of SIEM tools and incident monitoring platforms.
Knowledge and working experience in security risk management principles and investigation processes.
Comprehensive understanding of relevant security legislation and compliance standards.
SHEQ knowledge—Understand and apply relevant SHEQ practices and procedures.
