Role Purpose
To partner with senior leaders to translate the Human Capital strategy into practical people plans for the relevant business area. The role supports the Head of Human Capital by providing business insight, implementing agreed HC priorities, managing day-to-day HC delivery, and ensuring that people practices enable business outcomes.
Requirements

Registered Industrial Psychologist with the Health Professions Council of South Africa or Registered member with South African Board for People Practices (SABPP)

5-8 years HC business partnering experience working across all aspects of the employee life cycle.

Process:

Provide business insight and people-related input to support the Head of Human Capital in shaping the Human Capital agenda and translate agreed HC priorities into practical people solutions that enable business outcomes within the relevant planning unit.

Act as a senior delivery partner to the Head of Human Capital, ensuring that agreed HC priorities are executed consistently across the business area and that material people risks, themes and decisions are escalated appropriately.

Oversee and manage the operational human capital portfolio to deliver on planning unit/functional team objectives.

Ensure the smooth running of the employee life cycle and day to day operational requirements in this regard.

Engage and partner with leadership in the planning unit to understand business and people needs, and co-create tactical and operational people plans aligned to the agreed Human Capital strategy.

Collaborate with relevant stakeholders to implement agreed initiatives that support organisational design, organisational effectiveness, employee engagement and retention within the business area.

Partner with human capital teams to deliver effective, efficient, integrated, and value-added human capital solutions to the business in line with business needs.

Support the refinement and adoption of human capital practices by providing business feedback, engaging relevant stakeholders and ensuring agreed practices are fit for purpose within the business unit.

Lead the implementation and adoption of agreed human capital practices and processes, including facilitating sessions to educate employees and senior line managers on these practices.

Promote efforts to measure employee satisfaction and climate within supported client groups and facilitate action planning to improve employee engagement and overall workplace culture with senior leaders.

Advise, coach and support leaders on people leadership activities, including the implementation of change programmes, in partnership with the Head of Human Capital and the organisational effectiveness team.

Implement leadership development initiatives in partnership with organisational development, and learning and development, to empower and enable leaders across planning units.

Identify training and development initiatives to address any learning or development challenges in line with business needs and engage with the learning and development department to facilitate implementation.

Influence people-related business decisions by providing sound HC advice, data-led insight and practical options aligned to policy, governance and the agreed HC strategy.

Provide input on organisational design considerations and support the implementation of approved organisational change initiatives.

Support organisational design and workforce planning processes by providing business insight, data and implementation support, while ensuring alignment to approved HC principles and governance.

Partner with leaders to understand current and future workforce requirements, identify capacity and capability gaps, and support practical workforce plans aligned to business priorities.

Provide leadership, consultation, and advice to the business in the areas of workforce planning, talent management, including talent acquisition, succession planning, onboarding, and performance management to align the needs of the business with the workforce.

Ensure that any employee relations matters are dealt with professionally and in line with the Group guidelines.

Identify, monitor and escalate people-related risks, including employee relations, capability, capacity, conduct, culture, retention and leadership risks, and support the implementation of practical mitigation plans.

Where employee relation trends are identified ensure that you work closely with the Head: HC and OD to diagnose the cause and to put plans in place to prevent Senior HCBP also responsible to implement these initiatives and plans.

Use people analytics to identify trends, risks and opportunities, and recommend practical human capital solutions aligned to agreed business and HC priorities.

Keep abreast of industry trends and best practices and provide recommendations to the Head of Human Capital on opportunities to improve the human capital service offering.
