We are seeking a skilled and reliable Fryer / Chipper to join our kitchen team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the preparation and cooking of fried menu items while maintaining consistency, quality, and food safety standards. This role requires an individual who can manage fryer operations efficiently during busy service periods while also being flexible enough to assist in other areas of the kitchen when required.

The ideal candidate will be a team player who is committed to delivering quality food, maintaining cleanliness, and adhering to all kitchen procedures and management directives.

Key Responsibilities

Prepare and cook a variety of fried menu items, including chips, seafood, poultry, and other products.
Monitor fryer temperatures and cooking times to ensure product consistency and quality.
Maintain oil quality and follow procedures for filtering and changing oil.
Ensure all fried products meet company presentation and portion standards.
Assist with food preparation and mise en place for service periods.
Support other kitchen sections during busy periods or when operationally required.
Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the fryer station and surrounding kitchen areas.
Follow stock rotation and food storage procedures.
Ensure compliance with all food safety, hygiene, health, and safety regulations.
Report equipment issues, stock shortages, or quality concerns to management.

Required Skills and Experience

Previous experience in a fryer, hot kitchen, or fast-paced food service environment.
Knowledge of frying techniques, oil management, and food safety practices.
Ability to work efficiently under pressure.
Strong organisational and multitasking skills.
Good communication and teamwork abilities.
Understanding of kitchen hygiene and sanitation standards.
