About the role

We are seeking a Sales Representative specialising in the hospitality and catering sectors, focusing on hotels, restaurants, cafes, catering companies, lodges, and guesthouses within the Cape Town CBD, Atlantic Seaboard, and Hermanus areas. This role demands expertise in consultative selling, relationship management, and territory development to drive revenue growth for Redstar Wholesale Catering Services. Candidates must possess strong prospecting skills, a proven track record in meeting sales targets, and an in-depth understanding of local market dynamics. Familiarity with food and beverage product portfolios and the ability to build enduring client partnerships are essential. This position offers the opportunity to leverage local insights to enhance customer satisfaction and expand the customer base, contributing directly to the company's strategic growth in a competitive landscape.

What you'll do

Identify and acquire new business accounts within the hospitality and catering sectors to expand the sales pipeline effectively.
Maintain and nurture existing customer relationships by understanding their needs and delivering customised product solutions.
Promote new products, bulk deals, and special promotions to add value and enhance customer satisfaction.
Develop and execute strategic sales plans to achieve and exceed monthly and annual sales and gross margin targets.
Engage regularly with clients through call cycles, balancing account management, business development, and follow-ups to maximise opportunities.
Build and sustain strong relationships with chefs, procurement managers, food and beverage managers, and business owners through regular face-to-face meetings and site visits.
Provide market insights, product recommendations, and menu solutions to help customers stay ahead of industry trends.
Quickly resolve customer complaints to ensure exceptional service and maintain high levels of customer satisfaction.
Monitor and analyse sales performance, preparing detailed reports on territory performance, customer trends, and competitor activity for management review.
Stay informed on industry trends, collaborate with suppliers and internal teams to ensure timely order fulfilment and accurate pricing, and conduct product demonstrations to showcase quality offerings.

What you bring

Minimum Grade 12 qualification.
Diploma or Degree in Sales, Marketing, Business Administration, or Hospitality Management.
3 to 5 years of proven B2B sales experience within the foodservice, hospitality, or catering sectors.
Demonstrated track record of achieving or surpassing sales targets consistently.
Valid driving licence with a willingness and ability to travel within the designated territory.
Strong knowledge of food, beverage, and catering product distribution is highly desirable.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build and maintain client relationships.
Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a dynamic sales environment.
Proficient in using sales software and Microsoft Office applications.
Customer-focused approach with strategic problem-solving capabilities.
