Full Job Description

This is an amazing opportunity for a Qualified Vet to work in a Wildlife Sanctuary mainly with Big Cats. Please only apply if you are a qualified Veterinarian

Duties and Responsibilities include:

Overseeing the health and well-being of all the sanctuaries animals, mainly big cats
Upkeeping of medical records
Observational assessments of all animals and adjustments to their medication and care, depending on the individual's needs, including husbandry aspects such as nutritional and environmental needs
Contributing to general husbandry as part of the animal management team
Contributing to preventative medicine protocols in a captive welfare setting
Participating in and supporting the safe transfer of animals to the sanctuary
Assisting in managing free roaming game

Qualifications and Experience:

Min 3 years experience in small or mixed animal practice, preferably including animal welfare and / or wildlife settings
Fully qualified veterinarian (must be registered with the South African Veterinary Council or eligible to do so)
Fluent in English
Good Microsoft and record keeping knowledge
Willing to relocate to Bethlehem Free State
Willing to work extended hours and weekends and being on standby
Drivers Licence
Passion for animal welfare

Pay: R40 000,00 - R50 000,00 per month

Work Location: In person
