DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS: but not limited to
Front Desk Duties:
- Maintain guest and Africology confidentiality
- Check staff time management daily (including appointment times are adhered to)
- Always maintain a professional appearance as well as dress code
- Provide precise, suitable, and instant responses to all requests by guests
- Provide your assistance in all areas of Spa operations as requested by management
- Perform prep work, correctly dean, and restock room as necessary
- Communicate to administration all occurrences involving staff or clients in the Spa that requires attention
- Stock control must be conducted once a week and at month end - report findings to Head Office
- Random make-up and nail checks to ensure all Staff are always maintaining the 5 star Spa look
- Refresh treatment knowledge regularly to make sure team are following the correct steps
- Conduct daily Spa Checks - all rooms and other areas/facilities within the Spa and report adverse findings daily to Spa Operations
- Communication skills and the appropriate manner in communicating content with
- Customers to keep the Reputation of the business in good standing
- Strong affiliation to health and wellness, utilizing this knowledge to increase productivity and sales
- Health and Safety within the Spa
- You will be responsible for opening and closing and a remote which confirms access as well as updating key register
- Responsible for Retail variances as per contract of employment.
Therapist Duties:
- Provide a consistent professional Spa massage and body treatments which are compliant with Africology Spa protocols and accepted documentation practices
- Handle guests query and concerns efficiently and politely
- Maintain guest confidentiality including Africology confidentiality
- Uphold Africology Spa standards of hygiene and sterilization
- Always maintain a professional visual appearance as well as the dress code
- Provide exact, suitable and instant responses to all requests by guests
- Provide your assistance in all areas of Spa operations as requested by management
- Perform prep work, correctly, clean and restock room as necessary
- Communicate to administration all occurrences involving staff or the client in the Spa that requires attention
- Actively support the Spa treatments, services and retail, in addition to programmes, promotions and/or discounts obtainable
- Efficiently inform and teach guests concerning specific wellness concerns
- Be flexible with scheduling, as the needs of the Spa will vary from time to time
- Properly care for tools and use proper amounts of manufactured goods to assist with cost controls
- Strive to achieve assigned targets as well as performance
QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Grade 12 / Matric certificate
- Relevant qualification in Somatology, Beauty Therapy, or Spa Management (advantageous for therapist duties)
- Certification in recognised massage and body treatment techniques
- Basic training in Health and Safety practices within a spa or hospitality environment
- Computer literacy (Microsoft Office, booking systems, and POS systems)
EXPERIENCE:
- Minimum 2–3 years’ experience in a spa, wellness, or hospitality environment
- Proven experience in a front desk/reception role, including client service, bookings, and cash handling
- Practical experience as a Spa Therapist, performing massages and body treatments in line with industry standards
- Experience in stock control and inventory management, including reporting and variance handling
- Exposure to retail sales and upselling, with a track record of meeting or exceeding targets
- Experience in maintaining 5-star service standards, including grooming, hygiene, and client interaction
- Demonstrated ability to manage daily operations, including opening/closing procedures and facility checks

- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage professionally with clients and team members
- High level of attention to detail, particularly in hygiene, presentation, and treatment protocols
- Ability to multi-task and work under pressure in a fast-paced spa environment
- Strong time management and organisational skills
- Commitment to confidentiality, professionalism, and brand standards
- Sound understanding of health, wellness, and customer care principles
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and public holidays
REMUNERATION / BENEFITS
SALARY: R 8 000 – R 12 000 (Plus Commission Structure)
