The role involves supervising multiple responsibilities and operations related to sales and service at Mondi Richards Bay and Mpact Felixton. This includes providing support and facilitating growth at additional accounts, both within and outside the region as required or requested.
The primary responsibility would entail overseeing the daily operations of Mondi Richards Bay and Mpact Felixton. To conduct laboratory evaluations, monitor and record essential plant parameters, as well as the corresponding results in relevant spreadsheets. This is done to assure the delivery of the agreed-upon service to the customer at their respective sites.
To guarantee the safe execution of all tasks, it is imperative to adhere to the work instructions, follow the guidelines provided in the SDS (Safety Data Sheet) for each chemical, and apply the knowledge acquired through training on chemical handling and proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE). Prior to usage, it is essential to inspect and verify the safety of any equipment utilised in carrying out these actions.
To fully understand the different testing methodologies and the rationale behind performing certain activities. To promptly record and convey all test findings to the customer in accordance with the specified criteria.

MAJOR TASKS, DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Executing and managing chemical trials with the Account Manager

Performing market surveys for both sites every on a quarterly basis.

Accountable for diagnosing and resolving issues when clients encounter anomalies.

Ensure active participation in upholding the company's EHS standards, procedures, and operational controls.

Ensure an adequate inventory of chemicals are maintained on site for all relevant uses.

Oversee the maintenance and functionality of equipment at customer sites, ensuring that it is in optimal working condition and that essential spare parts are readily accessible.

JOB DESCRIPTION
3.1
Stock Management

Ensure that sufficient stocks are kept on customer sites.

Compile stocks reports that are accurate and that month end usage is done accurately.

Submit customers weekly and month end stocks are done timeously.

Active involvement in accurate sales forecasting is done by the first week of each month on SFDC.

Ensure offloading of stocks into customer warehouses.

Report on and plan for collection of empty chemical containers.
3.2
Customer Interactions

Compiling month-end reports and to be sent to the customers by the first week of each month.

Attend and participate in meetings conducted with the relevant customers.

Assist in compiling minutes of the meeting to be issued directly after the meeting.
3.3
Intellectual property

Ensure that process flow diagrams are kept up to date.
-
Update competitors’ activities to be recorded on monthly basis.

Inform Line management of any planned shuts, Mill upgrades and downgrades as well as any other customer developments.
3.4
Sales Management

Updated Ordering, Receipting, Balancing, Stock reporting for usage reports.

Submission of any NCR’s to Customer Services when required.

Maintain proper stock rotation on site to manage potential Stock Write-Off

Ensure proper equipment performance and chemicals usage to meet product specifications.

Maintain Equipment critical spares list.

Manage empty flow bins on site

Keep an equipment asset register which is updated timeously.
3.5
Safety

Assist with keeping EHS File up to date and updating other safety requirements (policy, appointments, organogram, Hazard Identifications, Near Misses, WI's, COC’s for equipment, Proof of Inductions (Mill & Solenis), Safety Rules, RA's, toolbox talks, EHS meetings, SDS's, Training Records, Equip Cert's, Clearances, Gate Pass, PPE Audits, Housekeeping Audits).

Ensure that all Solenis employees and sub-contractors work in a safe manner.

Ensure that all Solenis sub-contractors comply with safety standard of the mill as well as that of Solenis.

Attend service provider monthly safety meeting as and when required.
Preferably a B.Tech Pulp and Paper/Degree or Diploma Chemical Engineering or B.Sc. Chemistry qualification with a proper understanding of and communication in the English language in the verbal and written form.
