Full Job Description

Phoenix Marine Manufacturing is seeking an experienced, hands-on and results-driven Head of Sub Assembly to lead our Sub Assembly Division, comprising of Carpentry, Joinery, Corian, Upholstery and Spray Painting. This is an exciting opportunity for a dynamic leader with a passion for manufacturing excellence, quality, continuous improvement and team development within the marine industry. Key Responsibilities

Lead and manage the Sub Assembly Division, including Carpentry, Joinery, Corian, Upholstery and Spray Painting, ensuring all departments achieve production, quality and safety objectives.
Plan, coordinate and oversee all sub-assembly manufacturing activities in line with production schedules.
Ensure all components are manufactured to specification and delivered to Production on time and to the highest quality standards.
Drive productivity, workflow optimisation, operational efficiency and continuous improvement initiatives across all sub-assembly departments.
Coordinate closely with Design, Procurement, Stores, Quality Control and Production to ensure uninterrupted workflow and material availability.
Manage departmental resources, labour planning, productivity, quality performance and daily operational targets.
Develop, coach and lead Supervisors, Team Leaders and employees to build a high-performing and accountable team.
Ensure compliance with company quality systems, manufacturing procedures, Health & Safety requirements and operational standards.
Monitor departmental KPIs, identify opportunities for improvement and implement corrective actions to achieve business objectives.

Minimum Requirements

Minimum of 5 years' experience in a supervisory or management role within a manufacturing environment (marine manufacturing experience will be advantageous).
Proven experience managing multiple production departments and leading large teams.
Experience in one or more of the following manufacturing disciplines will be advantageous: Carpentry, Joinery, Corian, Upholstery, Spray Painting
Strong understanding of production planning, quality management, lean manufacturing and process improvement.
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical documentation.
Excellent leadership, communication, planning and problem-solving skills.
Computer literate with proficiency in Microsoft Office and ERP/MRP systems.
Ability to work under pressure while managing multiple priorities and meeting production deadlines.
