- Maintains an accurate and updated database of all vehicles in the fleet and manages the scheduling of routine services and maintenance / repairs of vehicles, equipment and trailers
- Manages, monitors and maintains optimum stock levels of parts, tools and equipment
- Supervises the outputs of the workshop to optimise the maintenance / repair of vehicles / equipment / trailers

- Coordinates and / or approves all roadside assistance requests including the towing of vehicles
- Makes decisions to actively reduce the downtime of vehicles by facilitating and monitoring the turnaround times on approvals and repairs
- Reduces the costs of maintaining vehicles by analysing and evaluating maintenance / repair requirements and applying technical and commercial judgment to make appropriate decisions
- Collaborates closely with the Workshop Manager to discuss and schedule the services and maintenance of vehicles
- Liaises directly with Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEM’s) to coordinate and follow-up on repairs
- Escalates complex / unresolved repairs to the Workshop Manager: Auto
- Obtains additional / comparative quotes when deemed necessary
- Monitors adherence to all service level agreements (SLA’s)
- Initiates any actions required to maintain / improve service levels
- Monitors and tracks all vehicle usage, identifies areas of improvements and makes recommendations thereby contributing to the overall operational efficiencies and improving the fleets’ performance
- Assists with breakdowns of the fleet vehicles
- Monitors that vehicles, equipment and trailers are utilised and maintained according to company policies and procedures
- Conducts monthly inspections of all tools, equipment and stock
- Delegates repairs to technicians fairly and equitably which results in high-quality repairs and services and minimal come backs
- Achieves an average of 80% compliance on both internal and external International Organisation for Standardisation (ISO) audits conducted
- Attends daily / weekly meetings with the client to provide feedback on progress made and the status of repairs and maintenance
- Conducts investigations on all vehicle incidents and accidents and submits reports to Management
- Compiles downtime / breakdown reports on all vehicles
- Assists with toolbox talks to improve processes and create efficiencies in the workshop
- Manages open job cards until vehicles are repaired and job cards are closed
- Keeps abreast of and ensures compliance with government regulations which affect service operations
- Understands and ensures compliance with manufacturer warranties
