Scentemy is a growing South African fragrance and personal care brand, manufacturing and fulfilling a wide range of fragrance-led products for customers across the country.
We are looking for an energetic, hands-on and dependable Manufacturing & Fulfilment Assistant to join our production team.
This is a practical, physically active and labour-intensive position. The successful candidate will be involved in the daily manufacture of Scentemy products, filling and packaging finished goods, preparing customer orders for dispatch and maintaining a clean, hygienic and organised production environment.
The Role
You will be trained on Scentemy's manufacturing processes and will be expected to develop a strong understanding of how to manufacture each of the 19 different product types within our range.
A typical day may include blending products with fragrance oils, weighing and measuring ingredients, filling bottles and jars, labelling and assembling products, picking and packing orders, cleaning equipment and preparing completed parcels for courier collection.
This role requires someone who can combine speed, accuracy, cleanliness, initiative and teamwork in a busy production environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Manufacture and prepare Scentemy products according to approved formulas, production instructions and procedures.
- Accurately weigh, measure and blend base products, fragrance oils and other required ingredients.
- Fill bottles, jars and other containers accurately and consistently.
- Learn and understand the manufacturing process for all 19 product types within the Scentemy range.
- Label, close, assemble and prepare finished products.
- Perform basic quality checks on products and packaging.
- Pick and pack customer orders accurately.
- Ensure the correct product, fragrance, size and quantity is included in every order.
- Prepare, organise and set completed orders aside for courier collection.
- Assist with stock organisation and identify low levels of ingredients, packaging or production materials.
- Clean manufacturing equipment, utensils, containers, work surfaces and production areas.
- Maintain a clean, hygienic and organised workspace throughout the working day.
- Follow Scentemy's manufacturing, hygiene, housekeeping and quality procedures.
- Work closely with other team members to achieve daily manufacturing and fulfilment targets.
- Take initiative when work needs to be completed rather than waiting to be instructed on every task.
- Assist across the broader manufacturing and fulfilment operation wherever required.
Minimum Requirements
Applicants must meet the following requirements:
- Previous experience working in a manufacturing, production line, factory, filling, packaging or similar production environment is required.
- Must be a South African citizen.
- Own reliable transport is essential.
- Four contactable work-related references are required.
- Comfortable performing physically demanding and repetitive work.
- Comfortable standing and working on your feet for extended periods.
- Energetic and able to maintain a good working pace throughout the day.
- A quick learner who can understand and remember multiple manufacturing processes.
- Able to follow formulas, measurements, production instructions and procedures accurately.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Reliable and punctual.
- Able to work effectively as part of a team.
- Willing to take initiative and identify what needs to be done.
- Comfortable taking instruction and receiving feedback.

Relevant Experience
Experience in one or more of the following environments would be particularly relevant:
- Manufacturing or production lines
- Cosmetics or personal care manufacturing
- FMCG manufacturing
- Filling and bottling operations
- Packaging operations
- Warehouse or dispatch operations
- Order fulfilment
- Picking and packing
- Food, pharmaceutical or other hygiene-controlled production environments
Physical Nature of the Position
Candidates should understand that this is not a desk-based position.
The role involves standing for extended periods, repetitive filling and packing activities, handling bottles and containers, weighing and blending products, moving stock, cleaning manufacturing equipment and preparing significant volumes of customer orders for dispatch.
Applicants should therefore be comfortable with a fast-paced, hands-on and physically active working environment.
Why Accuracy Matters
Scentemy manufactures multiple product categories across a very large fragrance range.
Using the wrong fragrance oil, ingredient quantity, bottle, label or product variation can result in an unusable product or an incorrect customer order.
For this reason, the successful candidate must be able to combine speed with excellent attention to detail.
