Full Job Description

Over the last decade, Webrepublic has grown from an ambitious startup into Switzerland’s leading digital agency. More recently, Webrepublic has launched a subsidiary in South Africa to work hand-in-hand with our HQ in Switzerland. Our team in Cape Town has grown, and we are now looking for a German-speaking Digital Marketing Trainee to join our Performance Marketing team and help build the next generation of digital experts.

This 6-month programme is designed to equip you with the skills and confidence to independently manage your own campaigns and client relationships, with the ultimate goal of advancing into a permanent role based on performance.

As a Digital Marketing Trainee, you will gain intensive, hands-on experience in Search Engine Advertising (SEA) and other core areas of performance marketing. From day one, you will be part of an international team, learning directly from experienced specialists in Cape Town and Zurich.

Key Responsibilities

During your traineeship, your duties and responsibilities will include, but will not be limited to:

Create, manage, and optimize Google Ads and performance marketing campaigns
Conduct thorough keyword research and write compelling, high-converting ad copy
Analyze performance data to identify growth opportunities and improve campaign efficiency
Assist in developing data-driven digital marketing strategies for real-world global clients
Build and maintain strong, collaborative relationships with international clients
Collaborate cross-functionally and cross-market with our teams in Zurich and Cape Town

Qualifications and Skills

Diploma/Degree in Marketing, Business, Communications, Analytics, or a related field (or equivalent professional experience)
At least 1-2 years experience in any field, with an interest in marketing, business, or data-driven environments
Fluent English and German skills (written and spoken) with excellent communication talents
Digitally minded with a strong passion for online trends, new technologies, and working with numbers
Strong analytical mindset with the ability to interpret performance data and contribute strategic ideas
Organized, proactive self-starter who enjoys taking responsibility and learning fast in a dynamic environment
Valid RSA ID or legal right to work in South Africa
