MVDC Social Worker

The Mountain View Dream Centre is looking for a suitably qualified, competent and passionate
social worker to provide case management services to individuals we serve in the Egoli
township. This role is best filled by a social worker with experience working with vulnerable
children and victims of trauma. As our centre is unashamedly Christian, we are looking for
someone ready to advance our mission to provide Christ-centered, holistic and empowering
care.
Key Responsibilities:
● Participate in weekly Multi-Disciplinary Team (MDT) meetings to coordinate care for the
most vulnerable children served at the centre
● Provide individualized interventions and case management for children, adults and
families, as assigned by the MDT.
● Assist children in re-enrollment in school
● Assist in coordination of care and referrals to other programs for identified cases in need
(recovery, employment, education, etc).
● Accompany these individuals to various appointments (SASSA, court, medical, etc)
● Liaise with DSD, SAPS, schools, and other stakeholders
● Maintain accurate case records and comply with SACSSP ethical standards
● Participate in team supervision, training, and programme development

Minimum Requirements:
1. *Bachelor of Social Work (BSW)* – 4-year degree from a SACSSP-recognised institution
2. *Current registration with SACSSP* as a Social Worker – proof required
3. Minimum 2 years post-qualification experience preferred
4. Valid driver’s licence and own transport necessary
5. Clear police clearance and National Child Protection Register clearance
6. Computer literate: MS Office, case management systems
Competencies:
- Strong case management, report writing, and communication skills
- Empathy, resilience, and ability to work under pressure
- Knowledge of Children’s Act, Child Justice Act, and Domestic Violence Act
- Fluency in English and Afrikaans
