Full Job Description

We are looking for a Junior On-Site Quantity Surveyor to join our construction team. The successful candidate will assist with day-to-day site measurements, cost control, subcontractor claims, material tracking, and general QS duties on active construction projects.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

Carry out daily site measurements and record work completed.
Assist with preparing payment certificates and subcontractor claims.
Track materials, deliveries, and site usage.
Assist with compiling monthly valuations and progress claims.
Measure work from drawings and compare against actual site progress.
Help prepare variation claims and keep supporting records.
Liaise with site managers, foremen, subcontractors, and suppliers.
Assist with cost control and reporting on project expenses.
Keep site QS files, delivery notes, invoices, and measurement records updated.
Attend site meetings when required and provide QS support to the project team.

Requirements:

Diploma, degree, or studying towards Quantity Surveying / Construction Management.
Basic knowledge of construction drawings and measurements.
Good Excel skills.
Strong attention to detail.
Must be willing to work on-site.
Good communication and organisational skills.
Previous site experience will be advantageous.
Candidate must be mobile and have reliable transport to travel to and from site.

Ideal Candidate:

A motivated junior QS who is eager to learn, hands-on, reliable, and able to work well with the site team in a fast-paced construction environment.

Pay: R8 000,00 - R10 000,00 per month
