NATIONAL PROCUREMENT SPECIALIST

About the Role
You will own and build the national procurement function of Edge fitness Clubs, securing the best total cost of ownership across equipment, fit-out, consumables and services. The role combines strategic sourcing, supplier negotiation, capex procurement for new club roll-outs, and building a scalable procurement process as the business grows.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
Strategic Sourcing & Supplier Management
- Own end-to-end sourcing of equipment, fit-out, consumables and services across the national club base
- Build and manage a consolidated, vetted supplier base with clear terms, SLAs and agreed pricing
- Negotiate national supply agreements that leverage Edge’s growing scale and volume
- Run structured tender and RFQ processes for all material spend categories
Cost Management & Commercial Performance
- Drive measurable cost savings and total-cost-of-ownership improvements across every spend category
- Track and report procurement savings, price variances and supplier performance against budget
- Partner with Finance on capex planning, spend forecasting and cash-flow phasing for new clubs
- Identify and eliminate maverick, duplicate and off-contract spend across the network
New Club Roll-out & Capex Procurement
- Lead procurement for new club openings, from equipment specification through to delivery and installation
- Standardise equipment and fit-out specifications to create a repeatable, cost-efficient club build model
- Manage supplier lead times and delivery schedules to protect club opening dates
- Coordinate closely with Operations to align procurement to the roll-out plan
Process, Governance & Compliance
- Build fit-for-purpose procurement processes, approval matrices, controls and documentation
- Embed procurement governance, audit readiness and segregation-of-duties discipline as the business
scales
- Maintain accurate supplier, contract and pricing records
- Standardise ways of working across the national footprint
Required skills and Experience
- Matric qualification
- 5-8 years experience in procurement, strategic sourcing or category management.
- Proven track record negotiating supplier agreements and delivering measurable cost savings
- Experience supporting multi-site roll-out or capex procurement
- Working knowledge of an ERP or recognised procurement system
- Intermediate to advanced skills in Google Workspace and PowerPoint:spend analysis, supplier comparison and reporting.
- Sound understanding of procurement governance, contracting and supplier risk management
- Experience in utilities, analyzing, reading and monitoring utilities
