· Commercial translation ability: Able to translate technical investment, accounting, tax, and fund concepts into clear language for accounting firms, advisors, SMME clients, and internal commercial stakeholders.
· Finance function ownership: Experience coordinating a complete finance function, including management accounts, reporting packs, cash flow, budgeting, audit, tax, controls, statutory obligations, and external advisor coordination.
· Client and advisor engagement: Comfortable presenting to and building trust with financially literate external audiences, especially accounting and advisory practices.
· Remote and travel readiness: Able to operate effectively in a remote role while travelling when needed for partner engagement, client meetings, workshops, and internal sessions.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE AND TECHNICAL DEPTH:
· PE fund operations, investment holding company finance, portfolio reporting, or fund administration exposure.
· Investor reporting, drawdowns, distributions, management fees, capital accounts, fund performance reporting, and fund cash flow administration.
· IFRS treatment of financial instruments, including classification, measurement, fair value, impairment, derecognition, embedded features, and related disclosures.
· Practical exposure to transaction documentation, subscription agreements, shareholder agreements, funding agreements, term sheets, or investment committee materials.
· Experience dealing with auditors, tax advisors, fund administrators, legal advisors, banks, accounting firms, and portfolio company finance teams.
· Exposure to SMME funding, enterprise supplier development, Section 12J-style legacy knowledge, structured finance, alternative lending, or similar fund-based products.
· Strong Excel, financial modelling, management reporting, board pack, and presentation skills.
· Ability to maintain both commercial momentum and technical governance in a growth-stage investment business.

The candidate will support and help drive the commercial positioning, education, and distribution of the fund instruments to accounting firms, advisory networks, and SMME clients.
The candidate will coordinate the internal finance function and ensure that reporting, controls, cash flow, audit, tax, and fund-related financial administration are handled with discipline.
· Channel engagement: Build relationships with accounting firms, advisors, and referral partners who can introduce suitable SMME clients or investor opportunities.
· Technical product explanation: Explain the structure, purpose, benefits, limitations, risks, and accounting implications of fund instruments in a clear and credible way.

· Governance in distribution: Ensure distribution activity remains aligned to approved product parameters, internal risk appetite, compliance requirements, and PE governance standards.
· Market feedback loop: Capture objections, questions, pricing feedback, adoption barriers, and client use cases to refine product positioning and distribution strategy.
· Monthly finance cycle: Coordinate management accounts, reconciliations, journals, reporting packs, variance analysis, and close timelines.
· Cash flow and budgeting: Own or coordinate budgets, forecasts, rolling cash flow forecasts, payment planning, and funding requirement monitoring.
· Financial controls: Implement and maintain scalable finance processes, approval workflows, reconciliations, controls, and documentation standards.
· Audit, tax, and statutory: Coordinate annual financial statements, audit requests, tax submissions, statutory filings, and external accountant or advisor deliverables.
· Fund and instrument accounting: Review the accounting treatment of fund instruments, investment flows, management fees, distributions, shareholder loans, preference shares, and other PE-related transactions.
