Your Purpose
Reporting into the Performance Marketing Lead, this role takes ownership of paid media campaign performance across a portfolio of leading African travel brands. You’ll be responsible for planning, building, managing and optimising paid acquisition campaigns that drive qualified enquiries, bookings and revenue.
This is a commercially focused role for someone who understands that performance marketing is not only about lead volume, but about lead quality, conversion potential, revenue contribution and return on spend.
You’ll work closely with the wider Marketing team, as well as Sales, Product, Content, Design, SEO and Web teams, to ensure paid campaigns are aligned to business priorities and continuously improved through testing, data and insight.
Your Core Responsibilities:
Paid Campaign Management
- Plan, build, manage and optimise paid media campaigns across Google Ads, Meta Ads, remarketing, paid search, paid social and other relevant acquisition channels.
- Manage campaign budgets effectively across channels, markets, products and campaign types to maximise performance and commercial return.
- Monitor campaign performance daily and make data-led adjustments to improve efficiency, lead quality, conversion volume and ROAS.
- Independently manage platform performance across Google Ads, Meta and other relevant paid media platforms.
Channel Strategy & Optimisation
- Audit and define paid media strategies across targeting, keywords, audiences, placements, bidding strategies, creative, landing pages and conversion paths.
- Optimise campaigns towards leads that support channel revenue goals, not just enquiry volume.
- Balance longer-term channel development with short-term performance targets.
- Monitor competitor activity, search trends, SERP movement, impression share and market demand signals to identify risks and opportunities.
Testing, Tracking & Performance Insight
- Develop and manage structured testing plans across creative, audiences, keywords, landing pages, messaging and funnel stages.
- Ensure campaign learnings are documented, shared and applied to future activity.
- Support accurate campaign tracking and measurement across advertising platforms, websites, CRM and analytics tools.
- Maintain clean tracking, naming conventions, UTM structures and reporting hygiene.
- Monitor gaps in attribution, conversion tracking or data quality and recommend improvements.
Creative, UX & Cross-functional Collaboration
- Brief creative requirements for paid campaigns, ensuring messaging is audience-specific, commercially relevant and aligned to brand standards.
- Coordinate and oversee the delivery of campaign assets.
- Work with Content, Design, SEO and Web teams to improve landing page copy, layout and user experience.
- Work closely with Sales stakeholders to understand the quality, contactability and conversion potential of paid media leads.
- Share insights, performance trends and recommendations clearly with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Who We’re Looking For:
- 5+ years of demonstrable experience in performance marketing, paid media, digital acquisition or growth marketing.
- Proven experience managing campaigns across Google Ads and Meta Ads.
- Strong understanding of CPC, CTR, CPL, CPA, ROAS, conversion rate and funnel performance.
- Confident using GA4, GTM, Google Ads, Meta and other tracking or analytics tools to assess campaign performance and commercial return.
- Strong analytical ability, with the confidence to interpret data, identify trends and make practical recommendations.
- Commercial mindset, with a focus on lead quality, conversion, revenue contribution and return on marketing spend.
- Excellent attention to detail in campaign setup, budgets, tracking, naming conventions and reporting.
- Clear communicator who can explain performance results and recommendations to different stakeholders.
- Curious, proactive and improvement-oriented, with a willingness to test, learn and refine campaign approaches.
- Comfortable working across Marketing, Sales, Product, Content, Design, Web and Commercial teams.
- Experience in lead generation, travel, tourism, hospitality or e-commerce would be advantageous.
- Google Ads certification, Meta Blueprint certification, GA4 certification or related digital marketing qualifications would be advantageous.
- Comfortable with hybrid work.
