Personal Assistant & House Manager

ABOUT THE ROLE
A private family based in Melkbosstrand is looking for a capable, trustworthy Personal Assistant and House Manager to join their household. This is a long-term, relationship-based role that will grow in responsibility over time. The family is building a structured home environment centred on intentional child-raising and family life.
We are happy to consider candidates who may not have every qualification listed below but who have the right character, work ethic, and genuine desire to grow into the role long term.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
- Manage the day-to-day running of the household — staff coordination, scheduling, inventory, and supplier management.
- Support and participate in childcare alongside a nanny; coordinate children's activities, appointments, and educational programmes.
- Manage the Principal's calendar, correspondence, and travel arrangements with discretion and precision.
- Track household expenditure, process invoices, and submit monthly budget reports.
- Recruit and oversee a small household team and contractors.
- Coordinate events and manage guest hospitality arrangements.
- Maintain organised filing systems for household, personal, and administrative documents.
WHAT WE NEED
Essential
- Diploma minimum.
- Valid South African driver's licence — confident and experienced behind the wheel.
- 2 to 3 years' experience in any relevant role: PA, household management, childcare coordination, hospitality, or executive support.
- Excellent English communication skills — written and spoken.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office, WhatsApp, and general digital tools.
Desirable
- Diploma or Degree in Business Administration, Hospitality, Early Childhood Education, or similar.
- Experience in a private household or high-net-worth environment.
- First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
