About Us:
We are a well-established, dynamic financial services company operating in a fast-paced, target-driven sector. Our organization thrives on operational excellence, high performance, and continuous growth. We are currently seeking a highly professional, strategically minded HR Generalist to oversee our end-to-end employee lifecycle, drive compliance, and support our leadership team in maximizing workforce productivity.
The ideal candidate will be a resilient, proactive human resources professional who balances exceptional labor law expertise with strong commercial acumen. If you are looking for a role with high autonomy, clear accountability, and the opportunity to head up both performance systems and statutory compliance, we welcome your application.
Key Responsibilities:
- Performance Culture & Engagement (Full Accountability): Take full ownership of the performance management ecosystem. This includes designing, implementing, and continuously improving the company's performance framework, appraisal systems, and tools. You will own the entire review cycle, dictate schedules, and hold department heads strictly accountable for conducting high-quality, objective, and timely appraisals. You will also oversee the Performance Improvement Plan (PIP) process from start to finish, ensuring underperformance is managed decisively, legally, and in alignment with a results-driven culture.
- Skills Development, SETA & Learnerships: Act as the designated Skills Development Facilitator (SDF) or liaison. Take full responsibility for compiling and timeously submitting the annual Workplace Skills Plan (WSP) and Annual Training Report (ATR). Crucially, you will take the lead in identifying, applying for, and managing fully compliant Learnership programmes with relevant SETAs to optimize B-BBEE points and secure discretionary/mandatory grants.
- Employment Equity (EE) Management: Serve as a core driver of the Employment Equity committee. Ensure full compliance with the Employment Equity Act, compile statutory EE reports, manage the submission processes to the Department of Labour, and guide management on transformation targets.
- Talent Acquisition & Pipeline Management: Own the full-cycle recruitment process for high-volume and specialist roles. This includes drafting precise job profiles, managing talent portals, utilizing advanced screening assessments, and ensuring critical operational seats are timeously filled with high-caliber talent.
- Employee Relations & Compliance: Serve as the custodian of fair labor practices. Manage internal grievances, chair or coordinate disciplinary inquiries, and ensure 100% compliance with the BCEA, EEA, and LRA to mitigate organizational risk and protect the business engine.
- HR Administration & Payroll Integration: Maintain an airtight HR Information System (HRIS) with impeccable data integrity. Ensure accurate monthly payroll inputs—including commissions, incentives, and new starter documentation—are delivered seamlessly to the finance department.
Requirements & Qualifications:
- Experience: Minimum 3–5 years of progressive experience as an HR Generalist, ideally within a high-volume, performance-driven environment (such as Financial Services, Call Centres, or BPO).
- Education: A Bachelor’s Degree or Advanced Diploma in Human Resources Management, Industrial Psychology, or a related field.
- Compliance & SETA Track Record: Proven, hands-on experience compiling and successfully submitting WSP/ATR reports and Employment Equity (EE) submissions.
- Learnership Expertise: Verifiable experience in successfully applying for, setting up, and managing SETA-funded or funded/unfunded learnership structures.
- Performance Management Expertise: Proven track record of owning, driving, and enforcing a structured performance appraisal process across multiple departments.
- Legal Expertise: Comprehensive, practical knowledge of South African Labor Legislation (LRA, BCEA, EEA) with a proven track record in dispute resolution and disciplinary management.
- Systems Proficiency: Strong experience utilizing modern HRIS platforms, automated applicant tracking systems (ATS), Department of Labour portals, and SETA online submission platforms.
- Key Attributes: High emotional intelligence (EQ), strict objectivity, strong conflict-resolution skills, and the agility to navigate a fast-evolving corporate environment.
