The purpose of this role is to motivate and inspire the store teams to create an environment that ensures an exceptional customer experience while managing the day-to-day operations. Daily and weekly tasks include people management, compliance with safety standards, monitoring of inventory levels and shrinkage, effective shift scheduling to optimise labour hours and efficiency, and roll-out of commercial campaigns within the assigned region of Gauteng.
What You'll Do
Provide support to store teams
- Coordinate and facilitate regular meetings of store teams for the purposes of training, communication and planning.
- Provide support to Shift Leaders & Assistant Shift Leaders to assist them in creating and maintaining efficient, well informed and highly trained teams.
- Ensure that all teams are trained on company SOPs, protocols, procedures and
- systems
Oversee Regional Operations
- Ensure that all stores have access to, and are made aware of, the latest versions of all SOP’s, policies and other operational processes and procedures and that out-of-date instructions are removed promptly
- Maintain comprehensive knowledge of all SOP’s, policies and other operational processes and procedures in order to notice when stores are following operational instructions correctly
- Complete all operational tasks and trackers as instructed by a member of the
- management team in an accurate and timely manner
- Pursue continuous operational improvements in the region
Demonstrate high levels of leadership
- Lead with an entrepreneurial spirit that inspires out of the box thinking and shop owner mentality to impact business results
- Act as a liaison between the store teams and head office by providing insights and feedback to drive enhanced efficiencies
- Prioritise store performance issues, and immediately address any lapses in
- compliance with company policies or loss of store profitability
- Able to effectively lead through and adapt to change, taking the role of advocate in implementing any new systems including new ways of working.
Qualifications
What You'll Bring
- At least 3 years area / ops management experience in FMCG or hospitality managing multiple sites (non negotiable)
- Relevant tertiary degree or diploma in retail management, hospitality, logistics or equivalent
- The scale of our business would suit someone who has worked in a smaller independent retailer rather than a national retail chain
- Fully computer literate in Google Workspace and other modern collaboration tools
- High degree of commercial acumen
- Good communication and collaboration skills, high levels of accuracy and attention to detail
- Ability to build and maintain professional relationships and negotiate effectively
- Organised and efficient with good time management
- Able to solve problems independently, cope with volume and deadline stress
- Valid driver’s license and own transport essential
- Clear credit and criminal record

Pay: R20 000,00 - R30 000,00 per month
