About the Jobs Fund Programme
The Jobs Fund is a Government initiative owned and funded by the National Treasury. The specific goal of the Fund is to provide a mechanism that can identify and fund creative solutions to overcome identified short-term barriers to job creation and a better-functioning labour market. Furthermore, the Fund aims to catalyse innovation in job creation through structured and strategic Private and Public Sector Partnerships. RLabs, as a Jobs Fund Partner, shall use the Grant to implement the Project called the ReCha – Recycling Champions Project for the period (2026-2029)
Purpose of the Role
RLabs is seeking a proactive and organised Recycling HUB Coordinator to oversee the day-to-day coordination of ReCha programme operations. The successful candidate will ensure efficient logistics coordination, site readiness, issue resolution, and smooth material flow between ReChas, HUB sites, transport providers, and buyers.
The HUB Coordinator will serve as a key operational link between field teams, logistics partners, and the Monitoring & Evaluation (M&E) function to support effective programme delivery and operational continuity.
Key Responsibilities
1. HUB Operations Management
- Oversee daily operations of the HUBS
- Ensure the HUB is well-maintained, safe, and fully functional
- Manage schedules for HUB usage, training sessions, and events
2. Program Coordination
- Coordinate implementation of training programs and community activities
- Work closely with trainers and facilitators to ensure smooth delivery
- Ensure alignment of HUB activities with RECHA project objectives
- Act as the central communication point between field teams, transport providers, and programme stakeholders
- Maintain regular operational communication with Field/Admin Officers and relevant service providers
- Support effective coordination of day-to-day operational activities
3. Community Engagement
- Build and maintain relationships with local community members and stakeholders
- Mobilize participants and promote HUB programs and services
- Support an inclusive and welcoming environment for all beneficiaries
4. Participant Support
- Serve as the first point of contact for HUB users and program participants
- Provide guidance, referrals, and basic support to beneficiaries
- Monitor participation and engagement levels
5. Monitoring & Reporting
- Track HUB usage, attendance, and program outcomes
- Collect data and feedback from participants
- Prepare regular reports on HUB activities and impact
6. Resource & Asset Management
- Manage HUB equipment, materials, and inventory
- Ensure proper use and maintenance of digital tools and infrastructure
- Report any issues or resource needs promptly
7. Administrative Duties
- Maintain accurate records of activities, attendance, and incidents
- Support compliance with organizational and donor requirements
- Assist with planning and coordination of events and workshops
8. Logistics Planning & Scheduling
- Coordinate daily logistics and material collection schedules across ReCha sites and HUBs
- Support the efficient transportation and movement of recyclable materials between ReChas, HUBs, and buyers
- Ensure site readiness and operational planning for collections and deliveries
9. Tracking & Reporting
- Maintain accurate operational records and tracking logs
- Capture and update collection, transport, and logistics information
- Provide regular operational updates and reports to the Project Manager and relevant stakeholders
10. Issue Resolution
- Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve operational and logistical challenges within agreed turnaround times
- Escalate unresolved issues appropriately to minimise disruption to programme activities
11. Site Visit & Operational Support
- Conduct regular visits to ReCha sites and HUBs
- Assist with loading recyclable materials onto vehicles when required
- Ensure operational and safety procedures are followed during field activities
Minimum Requirements
Qualifications
- Grade 12 / Matric certificate
Experience
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in entrepreneur support, logistics, operations coordination, or a related environment
Skills & Competencies
- Basic Microsoft Excel skills, including data capturing and simple formulas
- Effective mobile and WhatsApp communication skills
- Strong organisational and coordination abilities
- Problem-solving skills with the ability to remain calm under pressure

Requirements
- Valid driver’s licence required
- Willingness and ability to drive a company bakkie when necessary
- Physically capable of loading recyclable materials onto a vehicle during site visits
Working Conditions & Special Requirements
- Based at the RLabs office in Cape Town, with regular travel to ReCha sites and HUB locations
- A company bakkie will be provided for operational travel and material collection where required
- Standard working hours are Monday to Friday, 08:00 – 17:00, with flexibility required during peak operational and collection periods
- Physical handling and loading of recyclable materials forms part of the role
