Full Job Description

Overview
The Tax Analyst is responsible for conducting detailed reviews of clients’ tax histories and identifying eligible tax credits, benefits, and refunds. Working closely with CRA guidelines and internal processes, the tax analyst analyzes up to 10 years of tax data, performs calculations, prepares adjustments, and manages submissions to help clients maximize their entitled government benefits. Enable Benefits specializes in Disability Tax Credit (DTC) claims and related government benefit programs, with a mission of helping Canadians access the financial support they deserve.

Key Responsibilities:

Conduct comprehensive reviews of client tax records spanning up to 10 years
Analyze client eligibility for Disability Tax Credits (DTC), caregiver credits, child disability benefits, and other applicable government programs
Identify all available tax credits and retroactive refund opportunities for clients
Prepare and process tax return adjustments and reassessments
Complete calculations and supporting documentation required for CRA submissions
Ensure all submissions comply with CRA standards and internal quality requirements
Monitor claim progress and assist with follow-up requests from the CRA
Maintain complete and accurate records within the CRM system
Manage client cases from initial review through submission and resolution
Provide guidance and support to other departments on tax-related queries and unique client scenarios
Partner with leadership to identify recurring tax-related challenges and recommend solutions to improve operational efficiency

Experience & Qualification:

A tax professional with 2–5 years experience in personal income tax (PIT), ideally across more than one jurisdiction (e.g. SA + UK or Canada)
Comfortable working in or alongside tech-focused environments, with a strong interest in systems, automation and structured logic
Experienced with tax compliance processes and familiar with reporting and filing requirements
Advanced proficiency using CRM systems to manage client relationships, workflows, and case tracking
Ability to identify CRM automation opportunities that improve operational efficiency
Able to work in-office from 3pm-12am

Bonus Points For

Experience with tax software development, tax engines or business rules platforms
Exposure to tax automation projects or digital tax transformation initiatives
A passion for improving tax processes through better tools, data and collaboration

Skills and Competencies

Solid research and documentation skills
A strong communicator who can explain technical tax concepts in clear, simple terms to non-tax stakeholders
Confident using Excel and/or logic-based tools (e.g. formula building, rule engines)
Structured thinker with strong attention to detail
Collaborative, curious, and tech-savvy mindset
