Title: Junior Data Analyst/Scientist

Role overview:
A Junior Data Analyst/Scientist is responsible for leading data-driven decision-making processes within internal and client marketing teams. This role involves analysing large datasets to identify trends, measure performance, and provide actionable insights that inform marketing strategies. The analyst uses advanced statistical techniques, predictive modelling, and data visualisation tools to evaluate the effectiveness of campaigns, optimise marketing spend, and improve customer targeting. They work closely with cross-functional teams, including marketing, sales, and product development, to align data insights with business goals.
In addition to technical expertise, the Jnr Data Analyst/Scientist plays an assistive role, advising senior analysts and clients on market opportunities and potential risks. They are responsible for ensuring data accuracy and integrity, developing dashboards and reports, and staying up-to-date with the latest trends in data analytics and marketing technology. Strong communication skills are essential, as they must be able to translate complex data findings into clear, actionable recommendations for non-technical stakeholders.

Key responsibilities:
- Assist in gathering, cleaning, and organizing data from various sources to ensure accuracy and completeness for analysis.

Perform basic data analysis using statistical methods under the guidance of senior team members.

Help identify trends, patterns, and insights in data to answer business questions.

Develop a foundational understanding of programming languages such as SQL, Python, or R for data manipulation.

Support the team in troubleshooting data quality issues and discrepancies.

Learn and apply data modeling techniques to prepare data for reporting.

Attend internal meetings to understand data requirements and project goals.
- Contribute to the development of basic reports and dashboards to visualize data findings.

Work closely with senior data analysts to support their projects and larger analyses.

Assist in the documentation of data processes, report logic, and key findings.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure data is used effectively and consistently across the organization.

Participate in team discussions to share observations and learn from feedback.

Help maintain and update data sets and databases.
- Assist in the preparation of regular and ad-hoc reports to communicate key metrics to stakeholders.

Create charts, graphs, and simple dashboards to present data findings clearly.

Learn how to summarize data insights in a way that is understandable for both technical and non-technical audiences.

Present simple findings or updates to the team during internal meetings.

Take detailed notes during client and stakeholder meetings to ensure data requirements are fully captured.
- Stay up-to-date with industry best practices, tools, and methodologies in data analysis.

Continuously expand knowledge of data visualization tools like Tableau or Power BI.

Practice and improve proficiency in key tools like Microsoft Excel and SQL.

Actively seek opportunities to learn new analytical techniques and statistical methods.

Develop a keen eye for detail to ensure the accuracy and integrity of all data.
Qualifications and experience:
- Degree, Specialist Certifications or Diplomas: Bsc or related degree, Mathematics/Statistics, Business Administration, or a related field.

Data Certifications: While not mandatory, certifications like Google Analytics Individual Qualification (GAIQ), or Python, R-studio or other related certifications can demonstrate expertise.

Minimum of 6 months + of experience in, with a proven track record.

Deep understanding of data principles, including collection, api environments, visualisation platforms and data collation

Strong analytical skills to interpret data and make data-driven decisions.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with team members and clients.
