Full Job Description

Furniture upholsterer with 2-5 years experience

We are looking for a furniture upholsterer to work in a furniture factory that manufacturers high quality wood, steel and upholstered furniture. The following skills are required:

Frame design and building: Plan and build wooden frames for upholstered furniture.
Frame Preparation: Inspect solid wood frames to ensure they are solid, smooth, and ready for upholstery.
Support Installation: Measure and attach webbing, or metal supports to the wooden bases to provide structural seat elasticity.
Padding & Stuffing: Cut and shape foam, or batting and staple it directly to the wood frame to create rounded, comfortable surfaces.
Planning, Cutting & Sewing: Measure and trace fabric or leather, then sew the materials together using industrial sewing machines.
Covering & Finishing: Stretch the upholstered fabric tightly over the padded wooden frame and secure it using air staplers, tacks, or glue.
Detailing: Add finishing touches like buttons, decorative trim, piping, or custom cushions to match factory specifications.

Pay: R4 656,11 - R10 000,00 per month

Experience:

Upholstery: 2 years (Required)
