We are looking for a HMR and Deli manager to introduce new and exciting personality to the HMR and Deli whilst managing and leading staff to achieve the best quality and customer service. The preferred candidate should possess excellent communication skills, strong organisational skills, and extreme attention to detail with personal interest in food and the culinary arts. The HMR and Deli manager typically has a wide range of responsibilities, which include:
· Training employees in food safety and sanitation procedures
· Maintaining inventory levels of food and non-food items such as paper goods, condiments, and cleaning supplies
· Scheduling shifts, hiring staff members, interviewing new candidates, and training new hires
· Communicating with suppliers to coordinate product deliveries and monitor inventory levels.
· Overseeing and assisting with daily food preparation according to planned production list
· Ensuring that all food products are stored at appropriate temperatures to prevent spoilage or contamination.
· Performing administrative tasks such as ordering supplies, maintaining records of employees’ hours worked, and scheduling shifts.
· Controlling labour costs by monitoring employee schedules
· Managing the operations of the dept, including ordering inventory and setting prices on items sold
· Physical strength and stamina
Responsibilities:
- Work on weekends
- Managing, training, disciplining and lead staff
- Self-discipline with a high level of self -accountability and integrity
- Ordering of required consumables and stock
- Maintain and police health and safety requirements.
- Create and manage staff rosters in accordance with stores operations.
- Minimise waste
- Manage food safety and ensure department is compliant with the relevant food safety standards
Requirements:
- Experience as a chef/HMR manager in the retail environment.
- Good attitude
- Problem solving with Critical thinking skills
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks, deadlines, and staff.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to communicate with staff.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Passionate about their work and able to motivate others
