High end Residential interior Design Firm in Ballito is looking for an experienced Carpenter/Cabinet maker for their new manufacturing entity.
We require an experienced Carpenter Cabinet maker with sound knowledge in work-shop fabrication/shopfitting to assist in the manufacturing of bespoke furniture and other various products. Candidates will assist with fabrication of wood , steel , acrylic and other materials.
Requirements
- 4 years + of experience as an artisan working on furniture/cabinets and fabrication.
- 4 years + of experience as a carpenter working with both laminated boards and solid wood.
- The applicate should be able to start immediately.
- The candidate must live within our geographical area - Ballito (KwaZulu-Natal) and have reliable means to get to work.
The successful candidate will meet the following criteria:
- Sound Knowledge of tools and materials used in the assigned area of responsibility, such as woodwork machinery.
- Prepare and set up machines and tooling for woodwork manufacturing
- Cut, shape, and smooth lumber and other material according to measurements
- Be able to create calculate yield for quantity for bill of materials
- Understand and follow oral and written instructions
- Ability to plan, organize and control own work effort, a very keen eye for detail is required with good communication skills - English
- Assembling products and parts, following production guidelines and specifications.
- Experience cabinet/kitchen manufacturing is advantageous
- Knowledge of different types of wood and their uses
- Numerical and Problem solving ability/skills
- Methodical, neat, and accurate
- Know how to build accurate jigs
- Working to tight tolerances (+/- 1mm)
- Read and interpret cutting lists, drawings, and sketches and to understand project specifications
- Knowledge architectural products such as aluminum facades/glazing industry would be advantageous.
- Valid Driving Licence
