We’re looking for a highly skilled professional experienced in implementing, testing, and maintaining advanced JSON-LD Schema.org markup and AI/GEO (Generative Engine Optimisation) readiness across WordPress websites. Your focus will be on improving search and AI answer eligibility, rich result performance, and entity authority through structured data, schema precision, and AI-first technical SEO strategies — not general web builds or design work. You’ll work closely with our SEO and AI strategy team to deploy, validate, and maintain complex schema structures while ensuring visibility across Google Search, AI Overviews, and generative AI engines.
- Implement detailed, page- and element-level JSON-LD Schema.org markup to enhance entity understanding and AI discoverability.
- Configure and test advanced schema types: Product, QAPage (multi-answer), CollectionPage / ItemList, TechArticle, WebApplication, VideoObject, and site-wide Organization and WebSite markup.
- Integrate schema with Yoast SEO Premium Additional Schema per URL, Rank Math, or lightweight custom plugins/functions via wp_head.
- Map schema dynamically from ACF, custom fields, and WooCommerce data while maintaining conflict-free coexistence with plugins.
- Apply semantic linking and entity-level relationships for improved topic and brand association in Google Knowledge Graph and AI Overviews.
- Implement and manage llms.txt, AI metadata tags, and structured Q&A schema to strengthen AI citation visibility (ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, Claude, etc.).
- Ensure content and schema structures align with AI search patterns and Generative Engine Optimisation (GEO) principles.
- Optimide entities, FAQs, and QAPage schema for inclusion in AI Overviews and generative search summaries.
- Conduct AI visibility audits using tools such as Otterly, WordLift, Rankability, or Geoptie, and document entity citations and AI coverage.
- Assist in llms.txt planning and deployment to manage AI crawler access and improve structured discovery.
- Support experiments to measure AI visibility, structured citations, and entity retrieval performance across LLM-powered engines.
Validation, Testing, and Reporting
- Deliver schema with zero validation errors (Rich Results Test, Schema Markup Validator).
- Verify Search Console Enhancements population and monitor schema coverage trends.
- Track and document improvements in structured data impressions, AI visibility, and entity indexing.
- Perform regression checks to ensure no negative impact on Core Web Vitals (CWV) during deployment.
- Maintain version control and annotated implementation logs for every schema or AI/GEO update.
- 5+ years of hands-on WordPress technical SEO and structured data implementation.
- Proven experience with advanced JSON-LD markup at scale and entity-level schema nesting.
- Practical understanding of AI search behaviour, Generative Engine Optimisation, and entity-based SEO.
- Experience with Yoast SEO Premium, Rank Math, WooCommerce, ACF, and custom schema injection methods.
- Familiarity with Google Search Console, Schema Markup Validator, Rich Results Test, Lighthouse, and PageSpeed Insights.
- Skilled in PHP, HTML, and WordPress theme-level customisation for schema injection.
- Working knowledge of GA4, GTM, and event schema tagging for measurable tracking.
- Bonus: Experience using AI visibility tools (Otterly, WordLift, Rankability, Geoptie), llms.txt deployment, and AI-friendly structured Q&A design.
