The Junior Demand Planner will support the Demand Planning team in ensuring optimal product availability across retail channels by assisting with forecasting, stock management, and data analysis. This role is ideal for someone starting their career in planning, with a strong interest in retail, food, and supply chain operations.

Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree (or currently studying toward one) in Business, Finance, Supply Chain Management, or a related field
- 1–2 years’ experience in retail, planning, procurement, or inventory-related roles (internships or graduate programmes advantageous)
- Basic understanding of retail or supply chain principles
- Interest in fresh food or FMCG environments is beneficial
- Strong numerical and analytical skills
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to work with data and interpret trends
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (intermediate level preferred)
- Exposure to ERP systems (e.g. Sage X3) or planning tools is advantageous
- Fluent in both Afrikaans and English
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment

Responsibilities
Planning & Forecasting Support
- Assist in building and updating demand forecasts for selected product categories
- Analyse historical sales data to identify trends and patterns
- Support the Demand Planner in improving forecast accuracy
- Maintain forecasting tools and data inputs
Inventory Management Support
- Monitor stock levels across stores, warehouses, and online channels
- Ensure optimal stock levels to minimise stock-outs and overstock situations
- Identify slow-moving or excess stock and support clearance actions
- Assist with stock allocations for promotions, launches, and seasonal ranges
Sales & Data Analysis
- Compile and update weekly and monthly sales and stock reports
- Track key KPIs such as sales performance, stock cover, and availability
- Identify performance issues and highlight trends
- Support preparation for monthly planning and review meetings
Collaboration
- Work closely with the Planner, Buyers, and Procurement teams
- Liaise with stores and operations to gather insights on trading patterns
- Support cross-functional communication to ensure smooth execution of plans.
