Position Summary
The Senior Manger is responsible for leading the Audit and Assurance division, ensuring the delivery of high-quality audit, assurance, and advisory services to clients. The role requires strong technical expertise, leadership skills, business development capabilities, and a commitment to maintaining professional and regulatory standards.
The successful candidate must be a qualified Chartered Accountant (SA) and a Registered Auditor in good standing and will be responsible for managing client relationships, overseeing audit engagements, developing staff, and contributing to the strategic growth of the firm.
Minimum Requirements
- Qualified CA(SA).
- Registered Auditor (RA) with the Independent Regulatory Board for Auditors (IRBA).
- Minimum 5 years post-articles experience in audit and assurance.
- Minimum 2 years' experience in management
- Strong knowledge of:
- Auditor General
- Public sector auditing standards
- Tax legislation and regulatory requirements
- Valid driver's licence and willingness to travel.
Key ResponsibilitiesAudit and Assurance Leadership
- Lead and manage the Audit and Assurance division.
- Sign off audit reports and assurance engagements where authorised.
- Ensure compliance with IRBA, SAICA, and applicable auditing standards.
- Review and approve audit planning, execution, and completion documentation.
- Monitor audit quality and implement quality control procedures.
- Manage engagement risks and ensure appropriate resolution of technical matters.
Client Relationship Management
- Serve as the primary relationship manager for key clients.
- Provide strategic business and financial advice to clients.
- Attend client meetings and present audit findings.
- Resolve complex client issues and maintain high levels of client satisfaction.
- Identify opportunities to expand services to existing clients.
Business Development
- Drive revenue growth and profitability within the audit division.
- Identify and secure new business opportunities.
- Prepare proposals, tenders, and fee quotations.
- Build and maintain professional networks within the business community.
- Represent the firm at industry events and networking forums.
Staff Leadership and Development
- Lead, mentor, and develop managers, supervisors, and trainees.
- Conduct performance reviews and provide coaching.
- Ensure effective resource planning and allocation across engagements.
- Promote a culture of accountability, excellence, and continuous learning.
- Support recruitment and retention initiatives.
Financial and Operational Management
- Manage departmental budgets and profitability.
- Monitor work-in-progress, recoverability, and debtor collections.
- Ensure engagements are delivered within budget and agreed timelines.
- Report on departmental performance to executive management.
- Contribute to the firm's strategic planning and operational objectives.
