Role Summary
Support the implementation and monitoring of OHS and Waste Management Systems, policies and procedures, whilst supporting and motivating line management and supervisors to provide Safety, Health and Environmental Leadership
Keywork output and accountabilities
Facilitate, monitor and support management practices and projects aimed at achieving an organizational culture focused on OHS & Waste. Recognize and support the increase in the maturity of the organization’s culture and its effect on how to function effectively as an OHS Practitioner/Professional. Coordinate and support the development and maintenance of a safe and healthy work environment by ensuring identification of key risks, implementation and maintenance of critical risk controls and leading the SHEQ Risk Management team.
Inherent Requirements:
- Degree or Diploma in Safety or Environmental Health or Environmental Management or Occupational Health Nursing or industry equivalent with a – (NQF 6/7 qualification.)
- Minimum of 3 – 5 years of experience in field of study essential
- Experience in HealCare industry is preferred.Registration with SAIOSH and/or other applicable professional body.
- Vocational Training related to Safety, Occupational Health, Environmental Health or environmental management with a minimum of 3 years’ experience in Occupational Health and Safety.
- An Intermediate level of Computer proficiency
- Sound Financial Knowledge and ability to interpret financial dataAbility to build relationships with various stakeholders including doctor.
Knowledge :
- Knowledge of global sustainability initiatives and best practices.
- Knowledge of OHS Act, COID Act, Environmental Legislation
- Excellent understanding of relevant legislation applicable to OHS.
- Comprehensive Understanding of Risk Management Processes
- Project Management and managerial experience will be advantageous
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence others
Working Conditions:
- Interaction with internal and external customers through several different means.
- Travel within the region to support the functions of the role will be required.
- Professional flexibility in working hours while supporting daily business hours
