Location: Remote (South Africa preferred), with overlap to UK/UAE business hours

About us
Samuel Leeds Real Estate Consultancy is a fast-growing property education business building an AI-first operation.
We already use AI across customer service, lead handling, internal knowledge and member support. We are now looking for a dedicated Applied AI & Automation Lead to help us identify, build,and roll out the next wave of practical AI systems across the business.
This is not a research role. It is a hands-on delivery role for someone who can spot friction, design solutions, build quickly, and turn AI into measurable commercial and operational results.
The role
As Applied AI & Automation Lead, you will be responsible for identifying high-impact AI opportunities across the business and turning them into live, working systems.
You will work across sales, marketing, customer support, Academy success, operations, and technology to improve efficiency, lead response, member experience, and internal productivity. You will need to be commercially sharp, technically capable, and obsessed with outcomes rather than hype.
This role reports directly to the CEO / Founder and works closely with the Head of IT and internal developers.
What you’ll be doing
- Audit the business to identify high-impact AI and automation opportunities
- Prioritise projects based on ROI, speed of implementation, operational value, and customer/member experience
- Design, build, test, and deploy AI-powered workflows, assistants, and automations
- Integrate AI solutions into our existing stack, including WordPress, GoHighLevel, WhatsApp, Google Workspace, and internal systems
- Improve support, moderation, lead qualification, member guidance, and internal team productivity using AI
- Build systems that include clear approval flows, human handoff, guardrails, and quality control
- Work closely with our Head of IT and developers to ensure solutions are secure, scalable, and maintainable
- Track and report on the impact of implementations using clear operational and commercial metrics
- Stay up to date with the AI landscape and recommend practical tools and approaches that give the business a competitive edge
What success looks like
In your first 6–12 months, you will be expected to:
- produce a clear AI opportunity roadmap for the business
- launch multiple high-impact AI workflows into production
- reduce manual workload in support, moderation, and repetitive admin
- improve lead handling speed and quality
- help us scale member support without scaling headcount at the same rate
- create measurable gains in efficiency, response times, customer experience, and internal productivity

You are comfortable working across multiple departments, translating messy business problems into working systems, and balancing speed with reliability.
You understand that the goal is not to add AI for the sake of it. The goal is to save time, improve experience, increase performance, and create leverage across the business.
Required experience
- Proven experience deploying AI and automation solutions in a live business environment
- Strong hands-on ability with Python, APIs, LLM workflows, and automation platforms
- Experience with OpenAI and/or Anthropic APIs and retrieval-based knowledge systems
- Strong integration skills across CRM, messaging, support, and web platforms
- Ability to move from business problem to working solution quickly
- Experience with approval workflows, human handoff, QA, and operational rollout
- Strong communication skills and ability to work with both technical and non-technical teams

Pay: R625,00 per hour
Experience:
- deploying AI/automation in live business: 2 years (Required)
- Hands-on experience with OpenAI or Anthropic API: 2 years (Required)
