About the Role
We are seeking a motivated and hands-on Junior Electronics & Systems Technician to join our growing team. This role is suited to an individual with a passion for electronics, technology and problem-solving, who enjoys working in a dynamic environment and is eager to learn and grow.
The successful candidate will be involved in technical assembly, testing, installations and support of electronic and embedded systems. The role requires flexibility, occasional overtime and travel within South Africa and, from time to time, across Africa depending on project and operational requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Assembly, wiring and testing of electronic systems and components
- Soldering and PCB wiring/assembly
- Working with embedded platforms such as Arduino, Raspberry Pi and related hardware
- Assisting with installation, setup and troubleshooting of technical systems
- Diagnosing and resolving technical faults and hardware-related issues
- Assisting with prototyping, product development and system improvements
- Maintaining technical documentation and reporting where required
- Supporting operational and project requirements both in-house and on-site
- Ensuring quality workmanship and adherence to company procedures and safety standards
Minimum Requirements
- Experience working with electronics and technical hardware
- Practical experience with:
- Soldering
- PCB wiring and assembly
- Electronic fault finding and wiring
- Arduino, Raspberry Pi or similar embedded systems
- Good technical and problem-solving ability
- Ability to work independently as well as within a team
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Willingness to learn and adapt to evolving technologies and project requirements
- Valid driver's licence preferred
- Passport and willingness to travel advantageous
Advantageous Skills
- Experience with programming or scripting
- Embedded systems or microcontroller programming experience
- Experience with automation, sensors, networking or related technologies
- Technical fieldwork or installation experience
Working Conditions
- This position requires occasional overtime depending on operational and project demands.
- Travel forms part of the role and may include travel throughout South Africa and occasionally to other African countries.
