Job Description – Solution Architect (Azure Cloud & PAS Platforms)
Experience Required
8+ years of overall IT experience with strong expertise in Solution Architecture, Microsoft Azure Cloud technologies, enterprise integrations, and insurance platforms specifically commercial insurance.
Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Solution Architect with deep expertise in Microsoft Azure Cloud, Microsoft technology stack, enterprise integrations, and Policy Administration Systems (PAS), preferably within the Commercial Insurance domain. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing scalable, secure, and enterprise-grade technology solutions aligned with business objectives, digital transformation initiatives, and Sapiens IDIT-based insurance platform implementations.
The candidate should possess strong architectural understanding of Azure PaaS services, Microsoft ecosystem solutions, integration and data architecture, networking, application security, DevOps practices, and AI-enabled engineering capabilities including tools such as GitHub Copilot.
Key Responsibilities
- Define and design end-to-end solution architecture for enterprise applications and cloud-based platforms.
- Architect scalable, secure, high-performing, and cost-optimized cloud solutions on Microsoft Azure with strong focus on Azure PaaS services.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders, product owners, engineering teams, and enterprise architects to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
- Provide architectural guidance for Policy Administration Systems (PAS), preferably Sapiens IDIT Suite implementations and integrations.
- Design and oversee integrations between PAS platforms, enterprise systems, third-party applications, and partner ecosystems using APIs, microservices, and middleware technologies.
- Drive integration and data architecture strategies to enable seamless flow of business and operational data across platforms.
- Ensure solution alignment with Commercial Insurance business processes and operational requirements.
- Drive architecture best practices related to cloud governance, application security, networking, DevOps, resiliency, scalability, and performance optimization.
- Evaluate and recommend emerging technologies, AI-enabled engineering practices, and productivity tools including GitHub Copilot.
- Participate in architecture governance, solution reviews, estimation, and technical roadmap planning.
- Mentor engineering and development teams on architecture standards, design principles, security practices, and best practices.
Required Skills & Experience
Technical Skills
- 8+ years of experience in IT with significant experience in Solution Architecture roles.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or related discipline.
- Strong expertise in Microsoft Azure Cloud architecture and Azure PaaS services.
- Strong experience as a Microsoft Stack Solution Architect with understanding of enterprise Microsoft technologies and ecosystems.
- Good understanding of AI concepts, AI-enabled engineering practices, and emerging AI tools/platforms.
- Strong experience in enterprise integrations, APIs, web services, microservices, middleware, and service-oriented architecture.
- Good understanding of data architecture, data integration, and enterprise data flow management.
- Strong awareness of application security, cloud security, identity management, and networking concepts.
- Familiarity with DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, GitHub ecosystem, and GitHub Copilot.
- Experience designing highly available, scalable, and secure enterprise applications.
- Experience in enterprise digital transformation and cloud modernization initiatives is an added advantage.
Domain Expertise
- Strong understanding of Insurance domain, preferably Commercial Insurance.
- Experience working with Policy Administration Systems (PAS).
- Preferred experience with Sapiens IDIT Suite.
Pay: R700,00 - R750,00 per hour
