The Human Resources Intern will provide administrative and operational support across various Human Resources functions, including Talent Acquisition, HR Business Partnering, and Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS). The role is designed to provide practical workplace experience and exposure to core HR processes, systems, policies, and employee lifecycle activities. The incumbent will assist with recruitment administration, employee data management, reporting, HR projects, and general HR operations while developing a sound understanding of HR best practices and business processes.
Key Responsibilities
Talent Acquisition Support
- Assist with the posting and administration of vacancies on internal and external recruitment platforms.
- Screen applications against minimum job requirements.
- Coordinate interview schedules and communicate with candidates.
- Assist with candidate sourcing activities and talent pipeline administration.
- Support onboarding activities and preparation of new employee documentation.
- Maintain recruitment records and ensure candidate information is accurately captured.
HR Business Partner Support
- Assist HR Business Partners with day-to-day HR administration and employee lifecycle activities.
- Support the administration of employee movements, including appointments, transfers, promotions, and terminations.
- Assist with the preparation of HR documentation and employee correspondence.
- Support employee engagement, wellness, and HR initiatives.
- Assist with maintaining employee records and personnel files.
- Provide administrative support on HR projects and business initiatives.
HRIS Support
- Assist with maintaining employee information on HR systems.
- Support data capturing, validation, and auditing activities.
- Assist with generating standard HR reports and management information.
- Support HR system testing, upgrades, and implementation activities where required.
- Ensure data quality, accuracy, and integrity within HR systems.
- Assist users with basic HR system-related queries under supervision.
Reporting and Compliance
- Compile and maintain HR reports and recruitment statistics.
- Ensure all HR documentation is filed accurately and confidentially.
- Assist in maintaining compliance with company policies, procedures, and employment legislation.
- Maintain strict confidentiality when handling employee and business information.
General HR Administration
Minimum Qualifications:
Completed 3 Year Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in:
- Human Resources Management
- Industrial Psychology
- Human Resource Development
- Business Administration
- Organisational Psychology
- or a related field.
Knowledge and Skills Requirements:
- Basic understanding of Human Resources principles and practices.
- Understanding of the employee lifecycle process.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Strong administrative and organizational skills.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
- Basic report-writing and data analysis skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to learn new systems and technologies quickly.
- Exposure to HRIS systems will be advantageous.
