We are looking for a hands-on, motivated Junior Bookkeeper / Accounting Assistant to join our Cape Town-based finance team. This is an excellent opportunity for a candidate looking to learn more about crypto accounting and the tech space, who wanting to grow their accounting and finance skillset.
We prefer to grow our team from the ground up. A successful candidate will be required to reconcile cryptocurrency wallets and fiat bank accounts, raise invoices and upload bills, track accruals and prepayments and prepare management accounts.
Key Responsibilities:

Bookkeeping and transactional processing

Issuing invoices on behalf of clients

Raising bills on accounting software for clients

Monthly bank reconciliations

Monthly cryptocurrency wallet reconciliations

Processing manual journals

Raising accruals and prepayments

Preparing monthly management accounts

Assisting with financial statement preparation
Requirements
While this is a junior role, successful applicants should have some basic bookkeeping experience with assisting with month-end close processes, general ledger entries, and reconciliations.
A diploma or degree in bookkeeping, accounting or similar would be very beneficial, or equivalent practical experience.
The following technical skills will be necessary:

Proficiency in Excel or Google Sheets (e.g., confident with VLOOKUPs/XLOOKUPs, pivot tables, and handling large data exports).

Hands-on experience with modern cloud accounting software.

Familiarity with digital wallets, payment gateways (like Stripe or PayPal), or crypto transactions would be a distinct advantage
