Position: Bookkeeper for Packaging Company
Location: Centurion, Gauteng
Industry: Manufacturing – Flexible Packaging
Reports to: Financial Manager / Accountant
Our client is a flexible packaging manufacturer providing custom, innovative, and sustainable packaging solutions to industries including FMCG, food & beverage, pharmaceutical, and industrial sectors.
Requirement
Financial Processing & Record Keeping
- Maintain general ledger entries and ensure accuracy of all financial records
- Process supplier invoices, customer invoices, and credit notes
- Perform bank reconciliations, cashbook management, and journal entries
- Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable
· To maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records, support daily accounting operations, and ensure compliance with financial controls within a manufacturing environment.
- Assist with payroll processing (if applicable)
- Prepare and submit VAT returns and statutory filings
- Ensure compliance with South African financial regulations and tax requirements
- Prepare monthly management accounts and supporting schedules
- Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and expense tracking
- Maintain proper audit trails and documentation for financial transactions
- Assist with year-end financial preparation and audit processes
- Liaise with suppliers, clients, and auditors where required
Minimum Requirements
Qualifications
- Diploma or Degree in Accounting / Finance / Bookkeeping
Experience
- 3–7 years bookkeeping experience (essential)
- Experience in manufacturing / FMCG / packaging environment (highly advantageous)
- Experience in a Packaging factory / production environment
Skills
- Accounting software (e.g., Sage, Xero, Pastel or similar)
- Strong Excel skills
- Understanding of inventory and cost accounting principles
