We are looking for an experienced, enthusiastic, and hands-on Retail Plant Nursery Manager to lead the day-to-day operations of our busy retail nursery in Hermanus.
Key Responsibilities:
* Manage the daily operations of the retail nursery.
* Ensure high standards of plant health, presentation, and quality.
* Oversee irrigation, fertilisation, pruning, pest and disease management, and general plant care.
* Provide excellent customer service and assist clients with plant selection and horticultural advice.
* Supervise and motivate staff.
* Manage stock control, ordering, merchandising, and displays.
* Perform administrative duties, including reporting, stock management, and computer-based record keeping.
Requirements
* Extensive knowledge of ornamental plants, trees, shrubs, and gardening practices.
* Proven experience in retail nursery management or a similar horticultural role.
* Strong administration and computer skills.
* Excellent customer service and communication skills.
* Sound knowledge of irrigation systems, pruning techniques, fertilisation, and general plant maintenance.
* Strong organisational and leadership abilities.
* Ability to work independently and under pressure.
