The incumbent will be responsible to produce/assemble goods and services by operating factory equipment and working on the assembly line ensuring that products are manufactured/assembled with great care to meet all quality and safety guidelines whilst adhering to work instructions. Responsible for carrying out basic quality checks such as testing of product before shipping to another station.
Role:
Work Instruction
- Manufacture products according to details and instructions stated on the work instructions and specification, and to report any deviations from these procedures immediately to the appropriate parties.
- Report equipment faults to Supervisors.
- Immediately report any incidents that the management need to address using the appropriate reporting systems.
- Commitment to right first time for completed tasks, as per work instruction.
Daily Target
- The operator is expected to be able to perform current duties within a reasonable time compared to the time studies. This should always improve based on experience.
- To meet your daily targeted build.
Safety and Procedures
- Support and comply with Health & Safety regulations.
- Ensure relevant training is complete and fully understood before commencing with new work instructions.
Attendance
- Reports to work on-time. Expected to not to be absent as defined in HR disciplinary code.
- Adhere to all HR policies and procedures, to include all absence policies and procedures.
Workmanship & Quality
- Monitor the production process and carry out basic testing and quality checks.
- Carry out cleaning and basic maintenance of work areas and tooling. Ensure parts are to the correct tolerances and meet customer and internal standards and specifications.
- Respond to required corrective and preventive action in a timely manner.
- Maintain workplace to a good housekeeping standard.
- Assists with in-line inspection when necessary; completes any re-inspection that is ordered due to quality issues from assigned line.

Qualifications and experience
- Minimum N5-N6 in Mechanical Engineering.
- A trade certificate will be an added advantage.
- 1 – 2 years’ work experience of working in the manufacturing industry.
- Proven knowledge of electronics soldering and testing in Production.
