This entry level position sits within the Copyright Administration team based in Johannesburg. You will report into the Service Delivery Manager, Copyright Administration. You will be working mainly on VOD (Video-on-Demand) cuesheet administration, YouTube manual claiming and dispute list tracking. You will have a high-volume, fast-paced workload which, though straightforward, requires meticulous attention to detail. The role provides es-sential training in metadata processing and is an excellent introduction to global rights admin-istration for online music usages. 3. Main Tasks • Processing cue sheets for films and TV shows streamed on VOD (Video-On-Demand) digital services, e.g. Netflix, Disney +, Amazon Prime etc. • Working with automated matching software, you will be checking that the metadata for each music composition cue completely matches the metadata registered on our copyright database. • You will be working towards challenging deadlines to carefully process as many cue sheets as possible, prioritised by value. • In cases where the music cue data is incomplete or inaccurate, you will either resolve this or pass it on to a Copyright Manager for further investigation. • Working on YouTube’s CMS, you will be responsible for adding manual claims to vid-eos for songs we represent when automated matching has been unsuccessful. • You will assist in the resolution of disputed claims by tracking and filing dispute lists provided by DSPs and ensuring dispute-related communication with other licensors is up-to-date. 4. Ancillary Tasks • From time to time you may be asked to assist colleagues in the Copyright Administra-tion team with projects or tasks they are working on. • These may include: registration of song and agreements metadata on our database; resolving copyright conflicts; resolving disputes on YouTube’s CMS; tracking and re-solving disputed claims for DSP usages on the CLIC application; managing the group email inbox; responding to internal queries from other departments.
