- National Diploma in Mechanical or Polymer Engineering fields
- Quality Management Qualification will be an added advantage.
- Extensive experience in Plastic Injection Moulding processes
- Minimum 10 years’ in automotive manufacturing process and component development.
- Experience in Plastic Injection Mould tool design and tool Buy-Off process
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in tool fabrication & buy-off in the plastics commodity.
- Experience in Project Management
- Thorough understanding of Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP)).
- Detailed knowledge of Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) for automotive components and systems
- Extensive knowledge of Quality Management Systems such as IATF16949, ISO9001, VDA6.3, etc.
- Thorough understanding of Process Failure Mode & Effects Analysis (PFMEA)
- Working knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)
- Proven Manufacturing Quality Systems knowledge including lean manufacturing concepts
- Knowledge on automotive supplier manufacturing processes and process controls
- Knowledge in vendor tooling & checking fixture fabrication standards
- Ability to conduct supplier audits on Quality Management Systems and Manufacturing Process Control Plans
- Travel as required for supplier visits to conduct regular process audits, product problem investigations and support component development project milestones
- Valid Driver's License

- Strong command of skills aimed at negotiating with both external and internal customers to ensure program milestones and quality expectations at met

New Product Development & Approval Process
- Schedule and lead APQP (Advanced Product Quality Plan) Kick-off meeting with nominated supplier along with buyer, project engineer and supply chain colleagues.
- Ensure effective communication with Launch team / PDT on project status and escalate launch risk issues by means of a yellow or red launch alert.
- Assess and approve new component manufacturing process / tool lineup proposed by the supplier
- Maintain a status overview of the components in the PPAP cycle to support agreed timing.
- Review dimensional, material test reports, capability study reports and other relevant data and tests reports and approve the PPAP package and provide component PPAP Approval.
- Suggest and implement component/system material cost reduction (MCO) and/or continuous improvement (CIP) initiatives.
Business Transfers (BTAB)
- In conjunction with the buyer, project engineer and supply chain representative, develop a business transfer strategy for a component or group of components / systems.
- Conduct regular business transfer progress reviews.
Supplier Quality Performance Monitoring and Improvement
- Monitor supplier performance indicators
- Review supplier performance with relevant supplier management
- Evaluate supplier improvement plans and assess its effectiveness
Supplier Nomination / Selection
- Define Supplier Quality manufacturing requirements / process controls for new components/systems sourcing
- In conjunction with the buyer and project engineer develop a sourcing strategy for new component/system and approve the list of bidders to quote on new components.
- Review bidders project plan and determine whether it supports Isuzu Motors SA introduction timing.
- Conduct Potential Supplier Assessments at suppliers that are not on the Isuzu Motors SA bidlist to determine whether the new supplier will be able to meet Isuzu Motors SA quality requirements.
Product Issue Resolution
- Attend daily Fast Response meetings held with the plant. Notified of new supplier manufacturing caused quality issues, also communicate status of current open supplier manufacturing caused quality spills in the plant.
- Determine whether a Problem Resolution Report (PRR) should be raised.
- Support plant containment activities for supplier manufacturing caused quality spills.
- Support supplier problem solving activities using 8D, 5-Why’s, Red-X, etc.
- Confirm that actual root causes have been identified by suppliers.
- Support in External Quality investigations with components in Warranty Parts Centre. Communicate findings with Supplier for supplier manufacturing caused quality issues.
Supplier Audits
- Identify and define audit schedule per supplier.
- Determine frequency at which audits need to be performed per supplier and develop Audit Plan.
- Develop audit agenda and scope and schedule audit with supplier.
- Lead the audit and assess whether supplier actions conform to requirements
- Compile audit report and determine audit result.
Product / Process changes
- Review released product engineering changes and determine SQ requirements associated with the change.
- Review changes proposed by supplier provided on the 4M document and determine impact on and risk to IMSAf quality requirements.
Vendor Tooling audits
- Conduct Tool Verification and Quality Audits.
