Our client, a well-established textile manufacturer, is seeking a highly meticulous, tenacious, and assertive Quality Controller to join their manufacturing team. In this role, you will play a critical part in maintaining product standards and ensuring manufacturing processes strictly adhere to the company's ISO 9001 Quality Management System (QMS). This is not a passive desk job; you will be on the production floor and in the lab, cross-referencing fabric specs, tracking defects, and ensuring compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintaining and updating the ISO 9001 framework
- Track non-conformances (fabric defects, shading issues, structural failures), log root-cause analyses, issue Corrective Action Requests (CARs), and follow up to ensure permanent fixes are implemented
- Document scheduled internal quality audits across weaving, dyeing, finishing, and packaging departments to ensure adherence to SOPs
- Maintain and audit the production team's Skills Matrix, ensuring only certified operators run specific machinery, and identify training gaps
- Review and execute Quality Control Plans for various textile runs, verifying standard checks (tensile strength, colourfastness, GSM weight) happen at correct frequencies and thresholds
- Perform routine physical and visual inspections of raw materials, in-process goods, and finished textile products
- Halt production lines or quarantine batches when quality thresholds are breached, escalating issues immediately to the Director or Production Supervisor
- Maintain impeccable, audit-ready digital and physical quality records
- Compile weekly quality metrics and audit findings into clear, concise reports
Minimum Requirements:
- Degree or diploma in Textile Technology, Industrial Engineering, Quality Management, or a related field; OR 1–2 years of hands-on QA experience in a manufacturing environment (textiles preferred but not mandatory)
- Foundational knowledge of ISO 9001 principles, specifically how they translate to documentation, audits, and corrective actions on a factory floor
- Intermediate to advanced skills in the Microsoft Office Suite — Excel for managing the Skills Matrix and tracking defect data; Word and PowerPoint for writing SOPs, documenting audit findings, and building presentation decks
Personality Traits:
- Meticulous and detail-driven, able to notice a single dropped stitch, slight colour variance, or missing signature on a log sheet
- Strong communicator — able to explain a technical quality defect clearly to a machine operator and write a formal, professional audit report for management
