About the Role
We are seeking a Senior Heavy Duty Auto Electrician to take on a supervisory / team leader position.
This role is ideal for someone skilled in diagnostics and electrical systems, with the ability to manage a team.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise electrical workshop operations
- Diagnose and repair electrical faults on heavy-duty vehicles
- Oversee installations, wiring, and system upgrades
- Plan and allocate work to team members
- Ensure quality, safety, and efficiency standards are met
- Assist with complex fault-finding and technical support
Minimum Requirements (Must Have)
- 8+ years of experience as a heavy-duty auto electrician
- Relevant trade certificate
- Proven experience in a supervisory / team leader role
- Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting ability
- Contactable references
- Based in the Western Cape OR willing to relocate
Advantageous Skills (Highly Beneficial)
- Experience working with vehicle and engine systems from:
Cummins, MAN, Scania, Iveco
- Experience on emergency vehicles
- Exposure to vehicle refurbishments and rebuilds
- Experience with automatic transmission systems, especially:
Caterpillar and Allison (electrical diagnostics & programming)
- Knowledge or certification in CANBus systems/programming
