The Head: Innovation is a strategically critical role responsible for shaping, leading and embedding the innovation agenda for the Systematic Strategies business within Momentum Investments. The role exists to accelerate the build-out of a differentiated, scalable and future-fit systematic investment capability by identifying, prioritising and converting high-value innovation opportunities into practical investment, data, product, technology and operating model outcomes.
Working closely with the CIO: Systematic Strategies, the incumbent will play a central role in translating strategic ambition into executable innovation initiatives that improve investment insight, enhance client outcomes, enable commercial growth and strengthen Momentum Investments’ competitive positioning in systematic and quantitative investing.
This role is expected to bridge investment strategy, innovation, artificial intelligence, data science, technology enablement, product thinking and disciplined execution. The successful incumbent will bring structure to ambiguity, create momentum across stakeholders, and help build the mechanisms required to move ideas from concept to proof-of-value, and ultimately into scalable business-as-usual implementation.The role is not purely conceptual or research-oriented. It requires a senior innovation leader who can combine strategic foresight with execution rigour, commercial judgement, governance discipline and strong stakeholder influence.
