Pie in the Sky is looking for reliable, safety-conscious, and customer-focused Drivers to join our growing Dispatch team.
Whether you are an experienced delivery driver or looking to develop your career in transport and distribution, we have an opportunity for a Driver. Our drivers play a vital role in ensuring our products are delivered safely, on time, and in excellent condition while providing outstanding customer service.
Key Responsibilities
* Deliver products safely, accurately, and on schedule.
* Load and off-load vehicles according to company procedures.
* Ensure all deliveries are completed without product damage.
* Follow planned delivery routes and schedules.
* Complete delivery documentation accurately, including Proof of Delivery (POD).
* Maintain professional relationships with customers.
* Conduct daily vehicle inspections and report any defects.
* Keep vehicles clean, roadworthy, and compliant with company standards.
* Follow all road traffic regulations and company safety procedures.
* Support the Dispatch team to ensure efficient daily operations.
* Plan and manage delivery routes to maximise efficiency.
* Coordinate deliveries and resolve delivery-related issues.
* Assist with training and mentoring Junior Drivers and Van Assistants.
* Ensure compliance with transport, food safety, and company policies.
* Monitor vehicle performance and proactively report maintenance requirements.
* Support dispatch planning and continuous improvement initiatives.
Minimum Requirements
* Grade 12 (Matric).
* Valid South African driver's licence (Code B or higher).
* Previous experience in deliveries, logistics, warehousing, or FMCG is advantageous.
* Physically fit and able to load and off-load products.
* Willing to work flexible hours.
* Valid Professional Driving Permit (PrDP) (advantageous)
* Good knowledge of delivery routes, road safety legislation, and transport procedures.
