Pitsana Mills is a well-established milling operation seeking a qualified and experienced Instrument Technician to join our dynamic maintenance team. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining, repairing, calibrating and optimising instrumentation and control systems to ensure efficient and safe plant operations.
Location: Bapsfontein, Gauteng
Salary: Market Related (Negotiable based on experience and qualifications)
Employment Type: Full-time/Permanent (On-site) – Standby duty as required.
Key Responsibilities:
· Install, maintain and repair process control instrumentation and systems
· Perform fault finding and diagnostics on PLC systems, sensors, transmitters and control panels
· Calibrate and test instruments in accordance with operational and quality standards
· Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations
· Conduct preventative and breakdown maintenance
· Maintain accurate documentation and maintenance records
· Assist with plant optimisation and continuous improvement initiatives
· Support production teams to minimise downtime
Requirements:
· Qualified Instrument Technician (Trade Test Certificate essential)
· N4 / National Diploma in Instrumentation or Electrical Engineering (advantageous)
· Minimum 2–4 years’ experience in a milling environment
· Strong knowledge of PLC systems, SCADA, Delta, Siemens, control loops, calibration of weighing equipment and industrial automation
· Experience with fault finding on motors, drives and instrumentation systems
· Sound understanding of safety procedures in a plant environment
· Ability to work independently and under pressure
· Valid driver’s license
