Application Specialist Comminution

Your role as Application Specialist Comminution :
The Application Specialist Comminution is staying updated on customer requirements and industry trends and advancements and feeds customer insights back into the Weir organization stimulating customer driven product innovation and design changes. You will assist customers with the installation of delivered equipment related to comminution processes in the mining industry.
You will collaborate with customers to understand their needs and provide tailored recommendations for improving processes. You will also have a mentorship role and you will provide guidance and mentorship to the wider Weir to develop their technical expertise. Furthermore, the Application Specialist Comminution reports into the Director Comminution Applications.
Your core responsibilities are:

Fine-tune and enhance the productivity of installations to meet customer requirements and optimize performance.

Demonstrate excellent soft skills to effectively communicate with customers and build strong relationships. Apply commercial skills to identify opportunities for upselling products or services that align with customer needs.

Utilize strong process engineering knowledge to troubleshoot and provide technical solutions to customers.

On-site Support: Travel to project sites when needed to provide high-level process audit assistance, troubleshooting, commissioning consultation, and participate in meetings requiring the presence of product and process experts.

Client and EPC Visits: Visit end client and Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) organizations to support discussions that necessitate the involvement of Weir’s product and process experts.

Collaboration with Regions sales, service and technical colleagues as well as in the design centre.

You will collect internal and external feedback into the organization to all functions to enhance and improve customer experience with Weir.
By fulfilling these responsibilities, you will play a crucial role in maintaining Weir Comminution’s position as a leader in the industry, driving innovation, and ensuring the successful execution and continuous improvement of our customer delivery experience.
Skills Required:

In-depth knowledge process engineering and sizing principles in the context of comminution processes.

Ability to troubleshoot technical issues and provide timely resolutions to ensure customer satisfaction.

Strong interpersonal skills to build rapport with customers and collaborate effectively within a global team.

Proficiency in utilizing software tools for process optimization and data analysis.

Frequent travel is required for the role
Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field or longtime in-field experience, with a focus on process engineering preferred.

Proven experience in the mining industry, specifically in comminution processes.

Strong technical background with the ability to analyse complex problems and propose effective solutions.

Excellent communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with global customers.

Commercial acumen to identify business opportunities and drive revenue growth through customer interactions.
