SolidWorks Mechanical Draughtsman – 6 to 12 Month Contract
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented SolidWorks Mechanical Draughtsman to join our engineering and manufacturing team on a 6 to 12 month contract.
The successful candidate will be responsible for creating, modifying, and maintaining accurate 3D models and manufacturing drawings using SolidWorks. The role will involve working closely with the Engineering, Production, Procurement, and other relevant departments to ensure that drawings meet technical, manufacturing, and quality requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Create detailed 3D models and assemblies using SolidWorks.
- Produce accurate 2D manufacturing and fabrication drawings from 3D models.
- Create and maintain detailed part drawings, assembly drawings, and layouts.
- Apply appropriate dimensions, tolerances, fits, surface finishes, and manufacturing specifications.
- Interpret engineering drawings, sketches, specifications, and technical information.
- Modify and update existing drawings and 3D models as required.
- Ensure drawings are suitable for manufacturing and machining processes.
- Work closely with engineering and production teams to resolve drawing and manufacturing-related issues.
- Assist with design improvements and modifications to existing products and components.
- Maintain accurate drawing revisions and ensure document control requirements are followed.
- Create and maintain Bills of Materials (BOMs) where required.
- Ensure all drawings comply with company standards and relevant engineering requirements.
- Assist with the preparation and maintenance of technical documentation.
- Communicate effectively with internal departments, suppliers, and subcontractors when required.
- Perform drawing checks to ensure accuracy, completeness, and consistency before release.
- Manage multiple drawing and engineering tasks while meeting required deadlines.
Pay: R20 000,00 - R30 000,00 per month
