We are seeking a motivated, hands-on Electrical Installer (Learner) to join our electrical infrastructure team in the Fourways / Lanseria area. This is a dedicated learning and development role designed for someone looking to build a long-term career in specialized electrical installations.
You will work directly under the guidance of an experienced Busbar Supervisor. Your primary mission is to absorb knowledge, understand the complexities of busbar systems (pre-fabricated electrical distribution systems used to carry high currents).
Key Responsibilities (What you will learn and assist with):
- On-the-Job Learning: Actively shadow the Senior Supervisor to learn the end-to-end process of routing, aligning, suspending, and jointing busbar trunking systems.
- Site Preparation & Material Control: Assist in receiving, inspecting, and safely storing busbar components and specialized installation tools on-site.
- Team Coordination: Help supervise small teams of installers and general laborers, ensuring tasks are carried out according to the installation drawings.
- Safety & Compliance (HSE): Ensure the team adheres to strict health and safety protocols. You will learn to conduct daily toolbox talks and enforce PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) compliance.
- Quality Assurance: Learn how to perform torque testing on joints, insulation resistance checks (Megger testing), and ensure the overall neatness of the installation.
- Progress Reporting: Assist with daily site diaries, tracking material usage, and logging installation progress.
What We Are Looking For:
- Experience: Minimal formal experience is required, but prior exposure to construction sites, electrical environments, or general hand-tool use is a big plus.
- Location/Travel: Must reside within or near the Fourways / Lanseria area and have reliable transport to get to site daily.
- Attitude: A strong desire to learn a specialized trade, a proactive work ethic, and excellent communication skills.
- Physical Fitness: The role involves active site work, including walking large sites, climbing scaffolding, and working at heights when necessary.
Pay: R5 500,00 - R7 500,00 per month
