Duties & Responsibilities
Assist experienced mechanics with preventive maintenance tasks, following established procedures and checklists.- Perform basic troubleshooting and diagnostics under the guidance of senior mechanics.
- Change oil, filters, and other fluids, adhering to safety protocols and environmental regulations.
- Conduct visual inspections of vehicles and equipment, identifying potential issues early on.
- Clean and organize tools and equipment, maintaining a safe and efficient work environment.
- Keep detailed records of maintenance activities and repairs performed.
- May assist with minor repairs under direct supervision, as skills and experience develop.
- Be prepared to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as needed.
- Ensure that safety precautions are taken when working on vehicles.
- Completing worksheets for the day’s work completed.
- General duties are expected from time to time during daily operations.
- Acts on any reasonable instruction given to you by your superior in relation to work activities.
Desired Experience & Qualification
- Completion of a technical training program in diesel mechanics or a related field (preferred).
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in a workshop or mechanical environment. Electrical experience advantageous
- Strong understanding of basic mechanical principles and safe work practices.
- Proven track record of diagnostics and ability to troubleshoot basic mechanical problems.
- Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to quality workmanship.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Willingness to work standby and shifts
- Willing to learn and grow within the role.
- Valid driver's license with own vehicle (essential).
