Sommelier – Asian Fusion Restaurant | Franschhoek
Seasoned Recruitment is seeking a passionate and knowledgeable Sommelier to join an award-worthy Asian Fusion restaurant in the heart of Franschhoek.
This is an outstanding opportunity for a wine professional who is passionate about pairing exceptional wines with extraordinary cuisine while creating unforgettable guest experiences.
Salary: R15,000 – R20,000 per month (depending on experience)
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver exceptional wine service and memorable guest experiences.
- Recommend and expertly pair wines with our Asian Fusion menu.
- Curate and maintain an outstanding wine list alongside management.
- Manage the wine cellar, inventory, stock rotation, and ordering.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with wine suppliers.
- Ensure wines are stored and served according to the highest industry standards.
- Train and mentor the front-of-house team on wine knowledge, pairings, and service techniques.
- Conduct wine tastings and engage guests with confidence and professionalism.
- Monitor stock levels, pricing, and inventory control.
- Support the front-of-house operation during service when required.
Requirements
- Minimum 2–5 years' experience as a Sommelier in a fine dining or luxury hospitality environment.
- Recognised wine qualification (WSET, Cape Wine Academy, or equivalent preferred).
- Extensive knowledge of South African and international wines.
- Excellent understanding of food and wine pairings, particularly with Asian cuisine.
- Outstanding communication and guest engagement skills.
- Passion for hospitality, wine, and exceptional service.
- Strong organisational and inventory management skills.
- Professional appearance and polished presentation.
- Willingness to work evenings, weekends, and public holidays.
- Own reliable transport or the ability to commute to Franschhoek.
